And 6'4'' SG's are a dime a dozen in the NBA...
cbf40, I value your opinion, but 6-4 2-guards with the stroke that Buford has are not "a dime a dozen" at any known location on the planet. This kid has a phenomenal shot - one of the best I've seen in a Buckeye uni.

Kobe, Redd, Allen, Rip, Stuckey, Manu, Wade, Roy, Johnson, Carter, Richardson, Martin,

I could go on...Maybe not all of them have great strokes, but they have the ability to score the basketball...

Then you have guys like JJ Reddick who is a guy you could probably compare Buford to in terms of being able to shoot the ball, but not quite as athletic, and not quite strong enough yet...

I mean even some of your pgs are 6'3-6'4''...Boobie Gibson is about 6'2'' and can shoot the ball as good as anyone in the NBA but is a bench player, due to his size...There was lots of talk before the seaosn that Buford wasn't quite as big as he was listed...

I am not saying that he isn't any good and will never make it in the NBA, just saying that 6'4'' SG's are a dime a dozen in the NBA...Well let me put it this way...If there is a 6'7'' SG a PG, or a C with potential on the board they are probably coming off the board before Buford...Remember last year you had a guy like Eric Gordon who didn't go until 7 and he was more talented than Buford...

I found this rather interesting with his brother Eric being in his sophomore year at Columbus DeSales there might be a possibility oh both of the Kellogg's walking on at Ohio State. I have no inside information but it certainly would not surprise me.

Thanks to Bucksin86 for the find.

Kellogg leaves PC basketball team
04:44 PM EDT on Thursday, March 26, 2009
By KEVIN McNAMARA
Journal Sports Writer

PROVIDENCE - Alex Kellogg, a little-used forward on the Providence College basketball team, has opted to leave the program. He is expected to transfer at the end of the current semester.

Kellogg, a 6-7 sophomore from Columbus, Ohio and the son of CBS basketball analyst Clark Kellogg, played in 19 games this season. He did not score a point and grabbed 12 rebounds. Kellogg was used as a ninth player in coach Keno Davis? eight-man rotation and played a season-high eight minutes in a game against Charlotte in November.

"Alex is interested in pursuing other options," Davis said in a statement issued by PC. "He is a hard-working young man who gave us a great effort on and off the court. He has a bright future ahead of him and we wish him the best."

Kellogg was recruited by former coach Tim Welsh as a late addition to the fall class of 2007. He was deemed a bit of a project at the time and it was a surprise when he played 8.5 minutes a game as a freshman, mainly for his rebounding and defense. He seemed suited to a similar role this season but his playing time dipped noticeably.

It doesn't appear that Ohio State coach Thad Matta is going after any of the point guards who remain available in the recruiting class of 2009, but he and assistant Archie Miller were in Las Vegas last week getting face time with one they hope to add to their loaded 2010 class.

Cory Joseph, 6 feet 2, from Ajax, Ontario, near Toronto, is the brother of Minnesota freshman Devoe Joseph. Cory Joseph plays for Findlay Prep, a Henderson, Nev., boarding school that is seeded second in an eight-team national high school tournament that begins tonight in North Bethesda, Md.

One of the last of the unsigned point guards who could have helped the Buckeyes next season, Darius Smith of Chicago, committed to Connecticut this week. Ohio State did not recruit him, Smith's coach said. Smith also had offers from Missouri, Purdue, Indiana and Kentucky, among others.

OSU men's basketball coach Thad Matta was a guest on The Big Show with Bruce Hooley a short while ago on WBNS-FM (97.1 The Fan).

Matta said he has no plans to add any late signees from the 2009 high school senior class this spring.

All-Ohio Red back in action

The grassroots team that won age-group AAU national championships the past two seasons has started down the road to what it hopes is a third.
All-Ohio Red, featuring 2010 Ohio State commits Jared Sullinger and Jordan Sibert and Sullinger?s Northland High School teammate, J.D. Weatherspoon, began the spring and summer season by winning the 17-and-under title in Milwaukee last weekend. The team is in Hampton, Va., this weekend for the Boo Williams Invitational. Pool play starts tonight.
Another of the marquee names in the Buckeyes? 2010 recruiting class, DeShaun Thomas, also is in the tournament, playing for Spiece Indy Heat.
The remainder of All-Ohio Red?s spring and summer schedule is on the All-Ohio web site. The AAU nationals are July 26 through Aug.4 in Orlando.

If we are losing 2 APR schollies how would we have kept Mullens and Crater on scholarship if they had returned for next season?
It is not definite that we are losing 2 scholarships. We are definitely losing one because of KK. The other one is being decided, I think, by the NCAA because of Oden leaving after Spring quarter began. I don't know how the rule works but maybe when a scholarship opens up you cannot fill it. I am sure there might be a little give and take between the NCAA and the institution. I don't think even the NCAA would take a scholarship away from a player who was already in school. That's just my take.

John R. Davis left the business school mid-semester to start his own company. I hope the NCAA removes an academic scholarship too.

What a lousy rule....... Guy leaves school to make millions... "failure"

Edit: I made up "John R. Davis" :wink2: :p
Change the last three letters in the last name and you have my legal name exactly:lol: However, I am not starting any business.
