Holtmann's recruiting looks increasingly like Jay Wright's. Short on top-10, long on top 25-to-50. And that's the way you get sustainable success these days.
the last time I talked to him he was okay physically but he was just dealing with some problems. I have no idea if he will be back anytime soon. I miss him greatly and not just because of his basketball knowledge.Sidenote is that this is the kind of thing OSU_Buckguy would keep us abreast of. I haven't seen him on here or any of the other boards since July. Anyone know if he is ok?

Ok, thanks a lot for the update. If you happen to talk to him again let him know that online Buckeye basketball fandom misses his presence and wishes him well! Hope he can make it back around here eventually.
I am befuddled by Holtmann's recruiting. It seems like all he knows is to recruit wing players/guards and ignore the true big man. I think very soon we are going to get lost in the Big Ten because we really have no guys coming in that will provide any height. I know that we have Key and he is only going to improve in coming years but if you like at the rest of the Big Ten and the guys that they have or are bringing in Ohio State is not in a very good petition. I do not know maybe we get Reid or Hurlburt but I have no idea what other big man we might be involved with and that concerned me. I do not have premium to the recruiting sites so maybe I am missing something significant but I sure hope that Holtmann brings in a good post player for next season. The big man recruiting is curious, I admit, but I have confidence Holtmann will sort it out soon. They can still have a good stretch run and be a top-25 type team this season, but they need Jallow playing, and to work Meechie into the rotation.
Just sayin, that's the most "impressives" in one comment section from any recruit I can remember.Four-star forward Kyle Filipowski talks growing recruitment
Class of 2022 forward Kyle Filipowski has been getting a lot of national attention as he begins his junior season. The 6-foot-10 four-star has no timeline for any decisions due to not being able to take visits due to the current covid restrictions. While Filipowski is fully open to any school who reaches out, he’s been prioritized the most by Marquette, Ohio State, Iowa, and Louisville with Stanford and Wake Forest being the newest schools to enter the mix.
Filipowski broke down each school prioritizing him with 247Sports.
Ohio State: “Ohio State is really good. I speak with coach Diebler pretty often, our relationship is very good. I love their game style and what they have to offer. I've done recent zooms with them, learning more about their academics as well. Their play this year is very impressive and something I'm looking at. Obviously players come and go and there might be a good year or bad year, but just seeing how they're playing with the pieces they have, and the style they play, is impressive. I'm looking at how I would compare to their system and their players, it’s impressive. I'm excited to see what they have to offer for me. Coach Holtmann has specifically told me I'm not exactly like any one of their players, I’m like a mixture of a couple. They've done a couple zooms on how I would play on the perimeter and on the outside as well. They're looking for the inside out game for me and it's great to see, I love it.”

The last two legitimate bigs were both projects. Maybe 3. One bolted to Alabama, not sure where the other went (Fla At?), and now Diallo. I get that the MCL is injured, but haven't heard about surgery, and there've been RBs that have healed quicker. I like the temperment of the 2020-21 team, and willingness to bang with the big guys. Might be a short dance, when tOSU faces a talented big.
