Sure, Dakich averaged like 15 a game in HS and Beverly put up 70 once, seems about the same level of talent.

I have read some really bad basketball posts over my lifetime and this ranks right up there with them. I know we just lost Francis to UNC but please this is just stupid..So what is getting connected with a few prospects worth? If you want but don't get, what have you actually done? Did those guys even visit? Matta's secondary recruiting strategy sucked, that is why he is gone as much as anything. He got 1 grad transfer in the like 10 years he could have gotten them. Clearly it was not an area he tried hard enough in. Honestly I think Dakich this year will have similar overall production as Beverly.
I guess my problem is for 2018 we do not have any Ohio guys to get unless Ahrens decides that he wants to come back or maybe Cohill decides that he does not want to play for a blue-blood program like UNC or whatever. The problem with losing a guy like Francis for next year is what type of message does it send to other recruits when we start losing the top players in Ohio. That plus the fact that there are not many 2019 in-state guys that are going to help this program and losing Francis does not help us get the big timers from out-of-state. Maybe I am being too pessimistic but when I see the 2017-19 guys starting to commit to other schools besides Ohio State call me concerned.I guess I'll give him time to get his Ohio State guys. I still like the Jallow and Young moves, so we'll see.
Weaver and Cohill are more combo guys than was Francis and 2020 is a long way off. By the time, Penn comes on board most of the guys currently on the team will be gone or he will only have one year with them..Sucks losing Francis, but if we can get Weaver and Cohill or another combo guard in 2018 then Dominiq Penn in 2020 we should be fine. There was already talk of losing out on Francis or Penn as taking 3 high end point guards in 3 consecutive years isn't likely.
You're right, Andre Wesson's senior year just got ruined because he won't have a freshman point guard on the team.Weaver and Cohill are more combo guys than was Francis and 2020 is a long way off. By the time, Penn comes on board most of the guys currently on the team will be gone or he will only have one year with them..
Thad Matta was struggling mightily in recruiting. The kid only had a Miami of Ohio offer a year before he committed to OSU, and clearly he was not a late-bloomer physically. He had "Matta reach" written all over him. I'm not saying Dakich is good, but when Thad needed to fill the roster with backup plans, he did it really badly. You compare Beverly's overall stats this upcoming year to Dakich at the end of the year and claim how stupid I am then.I have read some really bad basketball posts over my lifetime and this ranks right up there with them. Here. Let me just repeat HabaneroBuck's post and there is no reason to keep up bringing Matta because he is no longer the HCThad Matta was struggling mightily in recruiting. Ohio State continues to make up major ground with Elijah Weaver and Luther Muhammad, two Rivals150 guards in the 2018 class, and the Buckeyes should be in the top three for each.
Weaver, one of the top playmakers in his class, has set official visits to USC, Florida and Ohio State. His visit tour begins with a trip to Columbus on Sept. 8.
Muhammad is more of a scoring guard but is also one of the top defenders in his class. St. John’s was his perceived leader but after taking a visit to the Queens campus in June and not committing, the window is opening for another program to land Muhammad. He recently cut his list down to a group of five comprised of Xavier, Ohio State, St. John's, West Virginia and Virginia. He will make his own trip to Columbus on Sept. 1, and the Buckeyes should now be considered alongside the Red Storm as a favorite in his recruitment.
It seems unlikely that Ohio State will land both Weaver and Muhammad, but I would be shocked if the Buckeyes struck out on both.
If you had told me the new guy was going to come in and miss on Dane Goodwin, Jerome Hunter, Nance, and Jeremiah Francis (and who knows who else), I would have been all...

Five programs have begun to stand out for the five-star prospect.
“Probably, Florida, Stanford, Gonzaga, and UConn, the most, but Ohio State is coming in, too,” he said.
...
Ohio State: “They just came in recently. I went on an unofficial visit there before the coaching change. I really like the campus and everything. I just feel like I could fit in and run the point guard spot for them.”

RIVALS' REACTION
As the 2018 point guard options dwindle, look for more programs to enter the picture for Nembhard.
Gonzaga, Stanford and Florida are the schools that appear to have separated themselves from the pack, but UConn and Ohio State have started to gain some traction.
can't find an offer for andrew nembhard, but...
