Orlando nightclub shooting

[Mark May]. The theme park employee community has been confirmed to have lost at least one person, a Universal Team Member that worked at Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attraction. That makes this one hit a little bit closer to home for me. Hoping I don't hear of any of my fellow Disney Cast Members being involved as the names come out.
Thanks for all your updates and attention to this being so close to it Mike.

It's terrible no matter how you slice it, but I guess, my thoughts to you are that I hope it doesn't hit any closer to home than it already has.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm kind of dreading going into the office tomorrow knowing how many on my floor alone are likely to know someone who was killed. I consider myself lucky that my wife and I know that all of our immediate friends are safe.

I've heard that the count is up to 59, but they haven't appeared to have updated the count and it doesn't seem they've released any additional details since the update they made after the President's address.

Do what you can for your co-workers. I'm sorry it sucks.

I came here to post the same thing. People all react differently, and being strong for them is incredibly helpful.

You don't have to lose someone to lose something, when it is so close.
If I could the think of anything else to say, I would. But I can't.

Just saw something that sounds obvious but made my skin crawl...post talking about the investigators in the nightclub where the bodies are located...not only do they have do deal with all the bloody aftermath they can see, they also have to deal with the repeated sounds of all the cell phones going off, knowing it is loved ones and friends desperately trying to reach the deceased <shudder>

I had no idea what to do with this last night. I have nothing to add, but it's not like I click "like" on such a thing.

Of everything I have heard or read, this really just sank in. It is utterly terrifying and maybe too poignant. I hope those investigators can handle it. Not sure I could.

I'm glad I didn't see it last night. Ugh.

I think for me that would be the infinitely worst part.

That happened at Virginia Tech, too--when they were still clearing the classrooms. People's friends and family members calling their phones, when there was never going to be an answer.

The relentless persistence of events like this makes me happy I'm on the short side of years left on this planet. I don't see us ever having a solution to this. It makes me sad for our species, and reinforces my suspicion that Earth is the Australia/lunatic asylum for the universe.

This is all a process for those affected by it. In one week I hope and expect to see how wonderful people can be gathering around themselves, being thoughtful, and persevering. I have a few friend in Orlando, and they seem very strong and trying to promote happiness. For me it is just a headline, for them it is real. And from what I have seen, they'll be fine.
