Oregon 8 at Boise St 19 (Final)

Does this mean I officially need to finally begin giving Boise St. its due? I guess so.
Eh, debatable. They looked pretty sloppy themselves and may have been the beneficiaries of a mind-bogglingly bad game plan by Chip Kelly. For a supposed "offensive guru", that was some of the worst playcalling I've seen (see the afore mentioned sweep call from his own endzone).

Oregon may still bounce back and have a nice season, but it'll surprise me. They're looking at losing their starting RB (granted, I don't know what kind of depth they have) and one of their offensive stars for at a minimum several games. Kelly may be another one of those guys whose success as a coordinator does not translate to being a head coach. I just don't get how a guy who helmed one of the most potent offenses in CFB the past two years can devise one of the most bland, boring gameplans I've seen in a long time. Not to mention absolutely dreadful OL play. I mean, they seriously looked like '08 scUM out there a lot of the time.

HB off tackle out of the shotgun on 4th and 1

HB screen pass on 4th and 13

wonder what he has up his guru sleeve for the next game

he sounds like a Charlie Weis disciple

"I have run a screen pass twenty three times already today, only a fool would try it again, they will never see it coming!"

Oregon is going to have to end up a lot better than they looked last night for this game to have the value the Boise lovers think it will. The rest of Boise's schedule is just pathetic, and a 12-0 finish without this being a top-15/20 win won't make their best BCS argument.

N-Bomb was definitely dropped by the fan in the stands.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was tossed out by the BSU player.

Yeah, I have to say--the punch was too much, but it clearly was not entirely unprovoked. The BSU player thumped Blount on the shoulder pad and said something...could have been "good game" for all we know, but he just lost. Leave him alone.

And as far as the fans go, [censored] 'em. Just like Blount is expected to keep his emotions in check before and after the whistle, I expect fans to as well. Scream your face off during the game--not a problem for me. But don't incite the guy when he's clearly incensed. These are the same idiots who get mauled at zoos for screwing around next to the lion exhibit. I'm happy for Blount's sake that he was able to be restrained, as getting a hold of a fan would have spelled the end of his career. Still, I would much rather have seen the fan get drilled in the face than the BSU player.

My girlfriend sent me the youtube video of it this morning, and she couldn't understand how Blount could have reacted so severely. I explained that she's never experienced that level of frustration, and neither have I. I can't imagine what I'd be capable of if anything meant as much to me as football probably does to Blount.

Finally, I've seen it described as a 'sucker punch'. Pretty unfair categorization. The punchee ran up and initiated conversation. Blount answered with a fist to the guy's face. Overreaction? Certainly. Sucker punch, not at all.

Correct. He also put his hand on him.
