Yeah, pretty sure I watched LSU smoke Oregon with Lee & Jefferson at QB.
Let that marinate.

They were better than Mettenberger. And they weren't the reason Oregon lost. Big plays by the Honey Badger and the LSU D were.

I think last year's LSU was quite a bit better than this year's. I also think this year's Oregon is better than last year's.

Well that LSU defense & running game is still pretty damn good.

Oregon is still... Well, scoring a ton of points and giving up a
Ton of points. I see the same teams essentially from last year.

What about Oregon has improved? The defense? Obviously not.

They are still very good but LSU CB's last year were simply amazing. Clayborne and Honey Badger were flat out game changers. LSU was more solid up the middle on D. They did lose a 1st round DT. WR's have also been inconsistent.

There's no really defending tonight but yes, Oregon's D is better. Let's not forget they shut out Arizona which is a pretty impressive feat. They've also shut down everyone they've played before sending in the back-ups. They are not as good as I built them up to be but overall body of work and just from watching them, I like them better than last year's unit.

Both teams are still stylistically the same and still have basically the same strengths and weaknesses as last year's teams, but I'd say Oregon has simply improved while LSU regressed a bit.

Barner has to get some Heisman pub. Guy has been incredible all year and doesnt really play in the second half of games usually. Look what happens when he does!

Marquise Lee is going to be there next year though if the find a QB after Barkley leaves.

For any Oregon player to get serious Heisman consideration, they'll have to do something against a living, breathing defense. Also, they'll have to show that they are something more than just a plug-and-play system guy.

Why should Barner get consideration when he doing mostly the same things that his predecessor was doing? Why should he get consideration if it's reasonable to think that his backup would put up similar stats?

**** you, USC. The one game in my life I have to root for you...all you needed was to play a little defense. Gave up only 8 less points than friggin' Colorado and 7 less than Tennessee Tech. 730 yards of offense given up...seven HUNDRED thirty.
