Game Thread Orange Bowl: tOSU vs Clemson, Jan 3, 8:30 ET, ESPN

I think the game comes down to two things. 1.) Will Tom Herman have the patience to do what is working even if it is only 3-4 yards a possesion most of the time, 2.) The Quarterbacks. If Clemson can challange Braxton to beat them with his arm, they win. Braxton is the far superior athlete, but my personal opinion is Taj presents multiple challanges more like Troy Smith and had a surrounding cast that might be better then Braxton's surrounding cast.

Of course this might all be BS because it is Bowl season and usually the team that cares the most will win, I have no idea how up for this game the Buckeyes will be but I hope they send a great Sr. class out right. They have been throug a lot, set a high bar, and overall have been a great group of youn men.

I have a feeling they will be "up" for the bowl game. Most of these guys have one bowl game on their resume...the Gator Bowl. The older guys have the controversial Sugar Bowl to think back to. I don't know how a team couldn't be up for a BCS game after sitting on the sidelines last year. For the guys returning next year, they better be up if they want a starting job next year.

I don't think TH will have a choice. The entire game plan should be to keep the ball as long as possible in order to keep the Clemson offense off the field. The defense has lost any benefit of the doubt as far as I'm concerned. Long drives that chew up the clock. Win time of possession and the Buckeyes win IMO. If it comes down to the defense making a stop then the game is lost. They have shown that they simply aren't up to that and bowl practices aren't going to change that.

Only problem with running the ball to control time of possession is that with Clemson's run defense, the quickest way to score is probably running the ball.

A week ago, if you told me this team was going to Miami this January, I would have been pissed. Obviously this has been a tough week. But I feel like I've finally gotten to a point where not only am I content with this bid, I'm beginning to get excited for it. It would have been great to play for all the marbles, but think about it, it's only Urb's 2nd year, and he's already got us BCS Bowling. A national title in the 2nd year would be a monstrous feat, even for a coach of his caliber. Hell, correct me if I'm wrong, but Saban didn't win it all at Bama until his 3rd or 4th year there, so to expect Urb to bring us there in 2 yrs is a bit demanding. The fact that we were even close, and now engaged in a BCS Bowl game that we are sure to win, has got me pumped!

O-H-I-O!
Dude set the school's all time consecutive wins record before he even lost a game. It sucks that we don't even have a B1G title to show for it, but hey, that's life
