Online college football sim

What about recruiting? Seems like a couple conferences are in the same region which makes it twice as hard to recruit no? A few are the only tier 1 in their region and that has got to help unless there are that many more recruits in the doubled up regions.

ACC and Big East are in the same region (and ND is with Big 10), but supposedly that is compensated by more overall talent, I believe regions are slightly weighted for overall prestige. As a dues-paying member of the old guard, I can say it is pretty tough to recruit against the top of the ACC for sure. But ultimately you only need to be the best in your conference, and aside from Cincy at the top, the Big East is wide open: all those other teams are really inconsistent.

At WV, I see a freshman B/A QB, decent TBs and WRs with upside, a solid blocking core for next season at least, several great young SFs, a stud soph OLB with solid veterans around him, a handful of quality D-linemen, and a young punter. They lose only 6 starters (and in some cases there is a better backup already on roster).

At TexTech, I see a lot of potential at QB and TB, a pair of starting WRs for the next couple years, decent O-line with 2 great tackles (and nice FB-type blockers), very good young talent in the secondary, a star OLB, a couple good D-linemen, and quality kickers. They lose 12 starters.

At S.Carolina, I see not much at QB or TB, but some interesting prospects at WR and enough starters for a decent O-line coming back; DBs and D-line look pretty good too, but the LBs are pretty weak; they do have 2 more years with a solid PK/PN combo. They lose 10 starters.

All three have 15/16 prestige and are coming off good seasons, plus with your coach rating any of the three could conceivably be in the 17 prestige range, which is upper-half in all their conferences.

Of course, I don't want to suggest that immediate prospects for winning should be your main criterion, but this is a game, so winning is the point, and OSU is already coached by an OSU fan... It can be hard to keep up the interest level if you're not winning, so I say make it fun for yourself and take the best team possible!

If BSH keeps playing and enjoys it, good for him. I don't care to throw $5 at a game where I have no chance of winning. Thats a lesson in futility.

Any changes to the sim benefit the old guard. Any suggestions for changes that could possibly help the any new player are shot down like Down's patient asking out the Head Cheerleader to the prom.

This year, there were a grand total of what, 10 QB rated better than CC in the ACC region. I threw Everything I had at one QB and got jack shit. Just isn't worht the headache to me

At least in CMEL you have a chance. Although I'm getting tired of losing to BOB teams with half the talent I have in that too.

Feel free to PM or email if you want any advice on coaching or GMing in DEL football, scooter. The sim has been working well for a long time (15 years) with various tweaks and updates along the way, and while of course the top teams have an easier time staying at the top, that's the true nature of college sports after all. But there are countless examples of teams building up from nothing to elite, and that opportunity is always there for someone to climb the ladder.

The reality is you did take on a fairly masochistic rebuilding job at Miami, when the course I'm suggesting for BSH is to maximize his chances at winning with a program that is already in a position to succeed. Miami had horrendous talent and prestige and is in CCEL's toughest conference, and BSH also has the benefit of a higher coach rating since he waited to make the jump to tier-1. Still, you have improved the young talent base and should take a couple of steps up in the ACC as your roster develops. (And with a guy like TB McCarthy, you should run run RUN the ball!)

Also keep in mind you are allowed to transfer laterally in tier-1 (though you may have to take a lower-ranked team), and I actually see decent opportunities at, say, Vanderbilt.

CEL is another story, I am no fan of the auto-trim which puts new owners at such a disadvantage, but when you eventually get your own roster in place with a couple of drafts, the pro game is pretty fun too. In both games, though, it's going to take time, that's the name of the game in DEL.

New CCEL season stars Friday: walk-ons arrive and recruiting class is generated then, with invites going out next Thursday.

As always, first football season is literally FREE, new coaches start in IAA/FCS with playoffs at that level.

Available teams I would recommend for a CCEL newcomer: Elon, Charleston Southern, Monmouth, Savannah State, Samford, Albany.

My team cannot stop anybody

2 games 38 and 44 points allowed, 627 and 554 yards allowed

at least I was able to score 26 points in the 2nd game opposed to 6 in the first I suppose
