Defensive tackle Ondre Pipkins was one of the crown jewels of the University of Michigan recruiting class. After signing day on Wednesday, the 6-foot-3, 325 pound behemoth from Kansas City's Park Hil high school wasted little time engaging in the Wolverines' rivalry with the Ohio State Buckeyes.
"Who are you talking about? Are you talking about those people down south? I don't want to give them the time of day," Pipkins said during an interview with WTKA-AM Ann Arbor. It's like Ali and his pre-fight rhyming build up - adds a little entertainment to the trash talk. While I'll root against Michigan with every fiber of my being in all but two weekends next season (Bama and ND will be the exceptions), I don't have a problem at all guys running their mouths like this (as long as it isn't malicious. Sometimes people can go a little over the top and think it's actually a matter of life and death). Spices things up. I look forward to seeing some Dodson-Pipkins and Kalis-Schutt matchups in the future!
