Olympic Hockey Gold Medal

Swiss killed the penalty, then had a 3-on-1 when the guy came out of the box - Erik Johnson made a diving sprawl to break it up.

USA back on the power play again right after that.

They might have 1 shot on goal in the previous two PPs.

It's in the net... but time might have expired while the puck was in mid-air. :(

Hiller was batting the puck around with his stick and body, then it fell in. Not sure if it was in before time expired. About as close as it gets.

No goal. :(

Wow. That was unlucky for the US.

I barely know anything about hockey, but it looks like they're really getting outworked on the power plays.

Hiller looks just as good as he did against Canada - except for that awkward play where he got saved by the horn. I kinda figured this would be a tougher test than the first matchup. I figured the Swiss would get a lot of confidence from the way they played against Canada.

The USA's strategy on the power plays has been awful. The Swiss are stacking players on the blue line and we're trying to skate through them WITH the puck. We need to start dumping the puck in and getting their backs turned. I'm pretty confident in our players' abilities to win battles along the boards.

Backes needs more time on ice. He's been a physical presence out there.
