Olympic Basketball - Who wins the Gold?

Olympic Men's Basketball

Win or Lose, the Olympic Basketball Tournament is always fun to watch.
In Athens the lack of Michael Redd cost us the Gold.

I'd be surprised if Oden isn't on the 2012 squad.

AP: James leads US over Turkey 114-82 in basketball

James leads US over Turkey 114-82 in basketball

LeBron James scored 20 points and was a defensive force Thursday night in his exhibition debut, helping the U.S. Olympic basketball team overcome some early sloppy play to beat Turkey 114-82 in its first game in China.

Carmelo Anthony added 17 points and Dwight Howard had some powerful dunks while finishing with 14.

The Americans allowed 10 field goals in the first quarter, then only 10 combined over the next two periods. They improved to 2-0 in Olympic tuneup play and face Lithuania here Friday before moving on to Shanghai for their remaining two games.

James was 8-of-9 from the field and finished with six rebounds, five steals and four assists in 23 minutes, sitting out the fourth quarter.

The NBA's leading scorer sprained his right ankle when he stepped on another player's foot during a scrimmage early last week. The injury was considered mild and James likely could have played Friday against Canada, but the U.S. staff opted to rest him to avoid further swelling before the long flight to Asia.

Interesting. I read the other day where Bryant was going to give up some of his offense and be the main man on defense.

Turkey was supposed to give the United States a good game but it doesn't sound like they had a very good game after the 1st quarter.

The USA looked awesome against Spain. That is probably the best they have looked in the Olympics since the first dream team, considering the caliber team they dismantled.
Would like to see them this consistent and unselfish the rest of the way.

Just to show how unselfish, Jason Kidd is a starter and plays significantly. He just took his first shot of the Olympics yesterday. Imagine a NBA superstar waiting until his 4th game to take a shot
