Ole Miss 31, Florida 30 (Final!)

The difference is last year, UF's offense - and especially Tebow - put up ridiculous numbers in pretty much every game, and only lost because their defense is atrocious. Tebow and his offense ain't playin' as hot this year.

The loss of Bubba Caldwell to an ACL tear early in the season didn't help this.
He was an outstanding target for Tebow.

If I'm wrong, then explain it to me. I'm listening, even if I'm a little biased towards the kid in this case. Was he told he was the only QB recruit?

Tebow was a pretty enormous elephant in the room. How was that attempted to be smoothed over by Meyer?

This isn't exactly a denial, whether it came from Meyer, or one of his assistants who acts and speaks on Meyer's behalf (regarding who they're recruiting & cooling on)

Meyer denied the book's version, saying he never told anyone he was recruiting last year's Heisman Trophy winner to play defense or any other position.
"That came out in a book?" Meyer said. "If that came out, that's not true. Did he say me or did he say 'some coach?' No. Of course that's not true."

My problem is you treat it like fact. My problem is we have had this discussion before, so I doubt that telling you again will keep you from repeating it again.

Stepping back a bit, you have to remember that Tebow was the Pryor or his recruiting year. So the suggestion that Meyer told Snead that Tebow was not wanted by us as a QB - when he was universally recognized as the prototypical Meyer offense QB by every recruiting service, and that Meyer was quoted as saying how good a fit - is crazy. It is also a fact that we were after him - a Gator legacy by both parents and with Gator siblings - in a HUGE way.

So I ask you, if we were going to pick a player to lie about, would it be the one guy that was universally recognized as the prime Gator need for that year???

You have to believe that crafty Urban would say "Oh - that Tebow guy?? Don't want him, and he might make a linebacker if anything." Does not the fact that 99.99% of the football world would be on the ground laughing at such an absurd concept not enter into it?? Did Snead know we were interested in Tebow? Look below for a picture at our Friday Night Lights camp for elite recruits. Who is there?

Tim Tebow and Jevan Snead

The action was hot to say the least in Gainesville on Monday.

"Who was that guy I spend a couple hours throwing next to in Gainesville?? - I think they want him as a linebacker!"

I'm done. You want to believe what you want to believe. You had said, "That smug cocky Meyer got what he deserved..Karma's a bitch" and we would not be talking. Rebels got scoreboard, so there ya go...

But you are AGAIN saying Meyer is a dishonest lying guy. You for some reason choose to pick a story that defies logic. I have enough respect for his intellect to think that he is capable of coming up with a better lie than that - about Tebow - when he was running around doing everything he could to get him. Snead saying that Meyer was not interested in Tebow is so beyond specious it ain't funny. Meyer was drooling all over Tim at our camp and for every week until we got him.

:roll2: I know you love this go-to move during SEC threads, but I'd post the exact same thing if Fulmer was the culprit & victim. Or Weis. Or Pitino.

I love this go to move when there is an absence of rational fact-to-logic connection in a slam on the Gators or our coach. There is certainly stuff you can say about both. But when you brought this up before, and I reacted the same way and said the sames things before, then I have to assume that you are not interested in the facts, or, to be fair, that you are more interested in believing a story that is at best a puzzling choice by Meyer - lie about his plans to recruit his number one recruit at the position he was recruited for - to a kid who should know that Tebow is the Gator's #1 QB recruit, unless he does not have access to Scout or Rivals or the newspapers.

As you have chosen to believe that story, I conclude that you have a vendetta against all things Gator for reasons I stated. And if I'm wrong, not to worry....making allegations without factual backup is OK - right?:wink2:
