I love this kid, big and can run. I am not sure who the "expert" was that ticked him off and criticized his ability but I think he is going to be a stud and evidently the only persons opinion that really matters, cough Urbans cough, thinks so too.

CLOSE CALL THERE, MAJIN BUU. 2015 OL signee Matt Burrell was considered a "must-get" by the Ohio State staff. The Buckeyes got their man, but Burrell revealed yesterday just how much work they must've put in to land the big fella:

Burrell, by the way, wasn't the only 2015 OSU signee that once thought he was going Michigan.

We have a lot of talented kids coming in this class, but this kid is one of my favorites and I have incredibly high expectations for him. His foot work is awesome, makes him so mobile. He is going to be a great one IMHO, we will see how it works out. Lot of things go into being great, but I think if he works hard he has a chance to be an all time great lineman for us.

Its funny reading this, because it goes to show how little it means to kids who they grew up rooting for when its time to actually make a college decision. So many fans get wrapped up in thinking a certain recruit is a lock to their school because he grew up rooting for school X, but not realizing his factors in a college decision change from a child to being a young man. And fans get too locked in thinking a kid is guaranteed to their school because he liked watching them when he was younger. Glad to have Matthew as a Buckeye, he is a great addition to the 2015 class and should provide great depth to the Oline

I think he needs about 20-30 lbs. of good gains, with some serious redistribution of weight. But Matthew has so much ability and nastiness, I can say he will likely be fantastic for us. Plus his drive is second to none, so he will control these very controllable variables, so I think he will be a very big player for us.
