Huge!

Free write-up on the commitment. We were his childhood favorite and incredibly, he won the smokehouse for the OL group and ran a 5.18 forty  I didn't realize he was THAT athletic. Feder at LT and Schmidt at RT would be quite the duo. If we get Richardson, it would give us the luxury of sliding Schmidt down to guard, where I think he could excel.

Who is Richardson? Are you talking about Drew Richmond?

He'll be a beast either on offense or defense. Based on need I would think offense. But, he's a project of sorts.
Reid Fragel was a legit 6-8 when he was here. So, a 6-9 or 6-10 tackle is certainly possible with a guy who has this level of athletic ability. You can't "teach" this kind of athleticism. Huge get!

Ed "Too Tall" Jones may be the answer to this question, but is it possible to grow too tall to be effective on the football field?

I'm wondering the same thing. For a left tackle, the arms can't be too long, but I imagine there is a point where it could be tough to hang with a DE coming low around the edge. The key is probably the overall athletic ability to hang with the speed edge rushers. I'd be curious to hear the opinion of the guys on here who know a lot more about OL play than I do.

hanging with a fast DE is more about footwork than anything else. If this kid is good enough with this feet, his arm length will only be a huge plus. The thing is his arm length will help him against the slower DE's so he might know he doesn't have to move quite as well. That's a coach-able item - the key is for him to move his feet to get into position instead of using his hands to do so. Also, if he doesn't move his feet and grabs, that will lead to more holding calls on the edge.

I think he moves well enough that he'll be an absolute force and once he gets some elite coaching from Coach Warriner, this kid could absolutely blow up if he puts in the work.

This only focuses on the SEC unfortunately, but it's also becoming more prevalent around college football. But not many of the kids mentioned in this article were this big at 16-17 years of age. Kevin can easily add up to 20+lbs before he reaches campus and still be as big as a frosh as some of these upperclassmen mentioned in the article. Hell need much seasoning as his senior year will be his only year with any ample PT. Itll be interesting to watch his progrssion, because we may have to wait a few years before we see him crack the 2 deep.
