OL J.B. Shugarts (official thread)

None of the Big 4 are long-shots at this point... 2 are in the barn and the other two are opening the door, they just aren't ready to enter yet...

I honestly think Shugarts is a more of a long shot than the other three IMO. I'm not trying to shoot anybody sources down or anything, but a lot of teams feel really good about their chances with this kid, and that sends a red flag up the pole for me.

I hear you uf... Shugarts is actually the one that I'm the least confident with, but I still wouldn't consider him a long shot...
I know a lot of other teams' confidence on him comes from what he has posted on certain players' MySpace pages... From what I've heard, there's a little more there than that for OSU to feel good about...

true, but I'm weary of the parents and the coaches feelings to be honest. The big contest begins in February with this kid, this is when his recruitment really get started. OSU has a great shot right now

This is a crazy thought, but I wonder how much this will play into where J.B. ends up. In Texas, if you are not born a Texan then you are something else. J.B.'s father is a notherner not a Texan and I'm sure he has been made to feel that way over time. Could that influence J.B. to go out of state? (not necessarily OSU)

So 0 effect. Thanks UF.

I don't think 0 is quite right...it won't determine where he goes but it will factor into the decision. Example: If he is dead set on going somewhere away from home because he believes he has found the perfect situation, then it probably won't matter. If he is 50/50 between two schools at the end and is totally torn, then it could be a deciding factor.

By BK... JB's dad discusses a work opportunity that fell through for he and his family to move to Columbus (where JB would have gone to Coffman with Mike Adams). He says that they would still like to move back this way at some point.

A different point of view on JB's recruitment, but sounds good for tOSU...
