OL Harry Miller (Official Thread)

Glad you found the right people to reach out to Harry and the glad we have a couch that understands these issues.

And for all those that felt it was our right to know why he wasn't playing. This is one of the major reasons you don't have a right to know. He shared his private struggles and is strong for doing so but in part I feel terrible he thought he had to come out and say what was going on because otherwise people would never stop talking about what was going on with him. A fan's "right to know" can be harsh no one should feel required to share their inner demon's cause someone feels they have a right to know.

Glad that he’s gotten, and presumably will continue to receive the help he needs.

For those of you who felt the right to know what was going on… now you know. You all know who you are. Next time the program goes dark on information, maybe you all will have a little more respect for the privacy of the individuals involved.

Be well Harry. God bless.

Edit: I didn’t even read what @dragurd wrote in one post above mine. Didn’t mean to pile on, but I think I still would have.

The second paragraph all day long, you never know what a kid is going through. Echo that I'm glad he spoke out and is getting help, but none of us were ever entitled to that and it had to be super tough going through that while everyone is asking about him to the staff and his family. Hoping nothing but the best for him moving forward.

I’m sure this situation hits really close to home with Coach Day considering his father took his own life. I definitely applaud Coach for being a light in Harry’s dark world.

Also, while we fans are all up in arms over the defense, or Day’s clock-management, or something else, remember, we don’t always know what these people are dealing with behind the scenes. It sucks we lost to Oregon and TTUN last year, but Harry is crediting Coach Day with a win that doesn’t go in the stat book. And it was bigger than any win in THE Game or championship he could have won. Well done, coach! Well done! I’d send my son to play for you in a heartbeat!

Wow, that is some powerful stuff right there. Coming from someone who has gone through bouts of depression and anxiety in my past (not sad, actually diagnosed), I can't imagine throwing on being in the D1 spotlight at Ohio State and having to deal with everyone watching you. Hope Harry can stick around Columbus and keeps on trucking, such a smart kid with a lot to give to the world outside football.
