OL Billy Price (National Champion)

Scout $ - NFTC Breakdown: Billy Price

Frankly I think with the right coaching he can still be a force on defense. Many of the flaws in his game are things that can be coached (i.e. how to use his hands, leverage, advanced inside moves, etc.). The things that can't be coached, he seems to have in spades. Maybe grad or someone else can weigh in here but that's how I see it.

I could be remembering incorrectly, but Simon was the same way out of high school, just not as big as Price. Simon had the strength, explosion, and aggression to still make plays, but needed the coaching to become what he is now. Combine that with his work ethic and you get the soul crushing DL that we see today. With a similar work ethic and the coaching from Vrabel and Fickell, this kid will be an impact guy.

Absolutely. That's why we have top tier coaches, right?

I think Billy Price could be an All-B1G caliber Center....

I like his nastiness on the O-Line....

An extremely strong DT with pretty good, relative athleticism... or... :)
An extremely strong OL with exceptional, relative athleticism... hmm...

How does one's athleticism change with position? It's technique and fit. Look at Chris Carter...wasn't doing all that well on the OL but appears to be a very good DT.

With the same athletism set, it's usually easier to be a DT than it is an OL, since the DT has the freedom of movement in deciding what he wants to do while the OL has to read and react. I think Price will be just fine at DT...

Billy's athleticism doesn't change, but rather who he would be compared to does, which is why I put "relative" in there. I am not saying he wouldn't be a good DT, because I think he very well would be. I am saying I think his athleticism compares more favorably to the other offensive lineman on our team than it does the other defensive linemen.

In discus throwing, Fitch's Billy Price finished second after winning the districts. After he threw his final disc, Price walked over to his family and coach T.J. Koniowsky with a disgruntled look, stating he underestimated his opponents.

"I kind of overthought this meeting," Price said. "I thought I was going to be a walk-in and just didn't take to the full potential what these guys could actually do."

Another Fitch standout Billy Price also isheaded to state after winning the shot put with a throw of 58 feet 1.25 inches.

His trainer, T.J. Koniowsky, says that despite the win, things weren?t looking good for Price earlier in the week.

?On Thursday, Coach [Richard] Warner from Ohio State showed up at practice and he started trying too hard, but he refocused and things turned out well,? Koniowsky said.
