Protocol be damned, that was a stupid [censored]ing move on his part...period. The dude has serious issues in his life that need to get addressed before he ends up in prison, or worse, dead. He is embarassing the [censored] out of the team, the program, and the school. That's not "bashing", that's a damn fact.

And what the [censored] is he doing out in Aliso Viejo, California anyway?
He was at some kind of NFL/combine training program.
No one close to the campus scene seems to be surprised by this turn of events....

Definitely not. Privately, we were hoping he would make it through the season. We hinted around at some things this season...but this is still a sad illustration of wasted potential.

ESPN is reporting that Boone had to be subdued with a taser!

I remember the recruitment of a 6'8", hulking O-Lineman that was supposed to rival Orlando Pace in terms of football accolades and prestige...

4-5 years ago, I did not see this one coming. Someone help this kid before the headlines report something even more tragic!

Alex Boone arrested, Tasered?in Calif. after drunken tirade. - NCAA Football - SI.com

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (AP) -- Ohio State offensive lineman Alex Boone was arrested after being subdued with a Taser during an alleged drunken tirade, authorities said Monday.
Boone, 21, was taken into custody late Sunday for investigation of resisting arrest after Orange County sheriff's deputies responded to a disturbance call outside of a home in Aliso Viejo.
When they arrived, the 6-foot-8, 312-pound tackle had been jumping on car hoods, yanking on a tow truck cable and trying to break a window, said sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino.
Boone ran away from deputies and was found hiding underneath a patio, authorities said. Boone was combative and uncooperative and had to be taken down with a stun gun, Amormino said.
"He was yelling obscenities at deputies and had a strong smell of alcohol," Amormino said. "His blood-alcohol level was at least three times the legal amount."
Boone was taken to a hospital and then to a jail medical ward, where he remained. He had not been booked yet.
Boone, who was selected All-Big Ten this year, could be selected in the NFL draft in April.
Ohio State spokeswoman Shelly Hoffman said Monday that she was unaware of the arrest and could not comment.

At least 3 times the legal limit?

I mean, there's going out and having some brews...then there's just getting completely blitzed (pun intended).

We're talking more than .24. Wow. Kid just never learned. Could not have been a worse time either.

This thread is in such contrast to the Santonio Holmes one also gaining attention at this time.

I hope Alex gets his problems resolved before they have to order a coffin for a 6'8 guy. That's not good. Let's hope someone with some influence in his life steps up and gets him on the path to being straightened out.

Anyway, I don't know what happened to Boone. Maybe he was overhyped coming in? This has been mentioned before I'm sure but does anyone think that the Florida loss took the fight out of some of those guys (Boone in particular) and they never recovered? I just don't get it.

And then we laughed about what we did to Judge Crator, Jimmy Hoffa, Andrew Dice Clay's career and the U.S. economy... BWAHAHAHAAA

Tough deal. Lucky he did not die from that level of alcohol, and good thing he is a big boy to absorb it. i hope he gets help.

sigh

What I would do to be blessed with the talent and potential to play a sport for free at OSU. The fact that some people just piss this opportunity away is depressing, angering, and pathetic.

I hope he gets it together and turns it around.

Sorry I just have to :slappy:at the stupidity. I mean going around trying to break windows, jumping on hoods of cars, pulling a tow truck cable.

Why and what are you thinking? Boone, I know you're smarter than this.
