A former St. Edward High School and Ohio State University football player faces charges of resisting arrest in California.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department said Alex Boone had to be restrained by officers late Sunday night.

Deputies said Boone threatened a tow truck driver and had a blood alcohol level of three times the legal limit.
