No I think you're right, he said something along the order of, "...was ridden off the team after being convicted of felony sexual assault and is back home in East Buufoo. We hope he can get his life back together..."

ESPN is beriding Stoops for going for two.
I mean, to ME, it's logical... it was like 6:xx left in the 4th, down 16 points
(2 TD's + 2 2pt conversions). If you take 6 + pat, you're now STILL two possessions away, with a net difference of 9 points.

I dunno - me - it makes sense, but as everything else, if you make it, you're a genius, if you don't, you're the world's biggest idiot.

Not that I can stand the buffoon, anyway...

Just kinda' funny, that Lou Holtz of ALL PEOPLE would criticize that call... well...maybe it's hindsight!

Those of you "Old-Timers" know what I'm talking about :)

I don't get it.
With 6:xx left, down 16 points, just scored 6, why would you NOT go for the 2 to make it a 1 possession game, as opposed to PAT, down 9 points, a 2 possession game?
Especially considering Mizzou was moving the ball at will, and controlling the line when on offense?

They're Behind 36-21 (15). Scored TD, 36-27, down by nine. Kick an extra point, 36-28, a one possession game, 6+ minutes left in the game. They went for two and were stuck down two scores. Obviously, they would need the two eventually, but you're setting yourself behind the eightball going for the two right off the bat. [danfouts] BAD CALL, BAD CALL [/danfouts]

NM - apparently I had the scoring wrong. I was thinking they were 16 behind, in which case you need to. Down 15 is a different story.

Guess I was still absolutely dumbstricken from watching the stupid call by Iowa at the end of their game :biggrin:
