2025 OK TE Nate Roberts has signed his LOI!!!

11W Forums

Tom Loy still likes what he’s hearing in regards to Nate Roberts and Ohio State. He believes that one gets wrapped up in January.
BK also says he wouldn’t be surprised if Roberts commits on his visit. Roberts is planning to visit Ohio State the 2nd or 3rd week of January.

The Buckeyes have had some pretty darn good TEs cross our threshhold over the years. NFL is littered with former Buckeyes. They have been productive, certainly, but not main targets since Ricky Dudley (?). Thank you Cade Stover for stepping up as a legitimate pass catcher. Believe that this alone has raised awareness of our TE position. Plus, great to see/hear announcers point out that Cade made the key block, springing the RB. Also believe that Cade will leave early (he can buy more tractors with NFL money than NIL), and with Royer's leaving, think that Gee and Julani are the key performers left at the position. And unless the Buckeyes get some help on the OL, will need some big bodies to help keep the QB clean. Go Bucks!

Depending on who OSU gets in the portal, Roberts can be in the 2 deep in year 1

Nate is a similar athlete as Stover and has seen how we have used Stover in the passing game the last couple of years. Not sure if he is as physical as Cade, but if not, it is something he can grow into. Good size, great athlete and will be a definite threat in the passing game.

Agreed, things set up nicely for Roberts here with Stover and Royer off the depth chart. He is well rounded at an early stage and can get it done in all phases imo.
And I wouldn’t be surprised to see OSU lose at least 1 more TE to the Portal…

I think Robert’s is as athletic but he’s a more polished TE. Stover played 2 positions on defense before becoming a TE, and in HS it seemed like he played every skill position on offense. Roberts may be one of the best pure TEs to come to OSU since Ruckert.

Could have sworn that G Scott Sr on Morning Drive said that Jr saw the depth at WR and figured his best path to playing time was at TE. Could be/probably not remembering, but glad we kept Gee here....
