Barry Sanders, son of NFL Legend, has three early favorite
Junior running back Barry Sanders (Oklahoma City, Okla./Heritage Hall), son of Detroit Lions Hall of Famer Barry Sanders, has three programs out in front early in the recruiting process.
I'm too young to have witnessed Jim Brown, but I can say Barry Sanders was, by far, the best I ever saw with Sweetness a fairly distant second. A lot of people don't realize/remember he put up those ridiculous numbers on a team that never had consistent QB play, mediocre (at best) lines and his first couple of years in the run-and-shoot.Apache;1760206; said:Ive seen a lot of running backs over the years from Jim Brown to Adrian Peterson. In college and pros, Archie and O.J. and Earl and Edde. But when Barry was in the pro's, he was the most spectacular running back I can remember. He did things on the football field that humans are not supposed to do. Now I am not sure he is the greatest ever but in his era, he was as good as anyone and maybe all time.
That Stanford degree will stand Junior in very good stead ...
Agreed. But if I were him, i wouldn't want to go to Ok State. Constantly being compared to his father, and fans expecting 200yd games constantly will put a lot of pressure on a kid. Itd be like Jordan's kids going to UNC. I hope he goes to a school where he can make his own name and get PT. he'd be a decent stop gap RB for a team for a yearNo doubt. Smart move all the way around--get a degree from one of the top academic institutions in the country, and then transfer to a school where you're likely to get more playing time. Kid was in a tough spot playing behind one of the best RBs that will return to college football next year.

22 and your dad is arguably the greatest RB of all time, and IS the greatest RB in (fake)OSU history, is still a lot of pressure. I don't care how old he is! Fans can be brutal, especially long suffering fans reaching for a star.If he was an 18 year old freshman I'd totally agree - I think living up to the name is easier though when you're 22, have a degree, etc. He's a grown man at this point, knows who he is and he had success elsewhere (dang near 7 yards a pop) so it might be nice to get back to his dads stomping grounds for one year. They could certainly use him at Ok State. Or he can come here :)
But Gundy is a man, and will protect him.22 and your dad is arguably the greatest RB of all time, and IS the greatest RB in (fake)OSU history, is still a lot of pressure. I don't care how old he is! Fans can be brutal, especially long suffering fans reaching for a star.
