Clark, Davis, Rothleisberger all come to mind.
Would have TP taken over starting job from Clark or Davis if they would have ended up at OSU?? Maybe, he is one amazing athlete!!
Never questioned recruiting TP, if he stays healthy and coachable, which it appears he is, he will bring a national championship back to Columbus.

Keep your eyes on Braxton Miller from Huber Heights in the class of 11. He's one Ohio QB the coaches are pursuing very heavily.

Everyone says he's the next great one from Ohio and the coaches clearly agree as they offered him midway through his Sophmore campaign.

Remember Dee Miller? The WR from Springfield South that started opposite David Boston? He just happens to be Braxton's cousin.

Look at the number of RBs, LBs, OL, WR , DB & DL from out of state the coaches have gone after the last few years. The reality is that Ohio State's coaches aren't just going after the top talent in Ohio but are chasing the top talent nationally. That's not such a bad position to be in even if it means losing the occasional D1 level player in Ohio to another school.

Yes, but the fact remains Ohio talent at QB is very poor compared to most positions. We're not even talking about Will Studlien vs Storm Klein type decisions, we're talking about Mike Hartline vs Juice Williams almost every year.

Which of the guys this year should be offered over Montana?

Ohio State has built an 800 win program while recruiting within a state not known for it's QBs like Western PA or California or even Florida is....

That said, it's a good thing that the coaches are looking nationally. Ohio State pretty much gets who it wants from OHio (with scant exceptions of course) and it's important to have a footprint outside of Ohio too....

Remember while Troy Smith won the Heisman, the last QB to win a National Title here came from Michigan. While some of the schools' best LBs ever have come from Ohio, one of the best ever came from Minnesota. Kind of a moot point, but Ohio State is bigger as a program than what the state can provide. That's not a bad thing if the coaches and recruiters realize it.

1. I like the notion that Pryor will get us back to a NC game, but without some changes up front it ain't gonna happen. That's been amply displayed in the last 3 bowl games and the USC debacle.

2. Clark was more mobile than Boeckman, hence he probably would have kept Pryor on the bench most of this season. Then again, given the problems with the o-line Pryor was probably the only possible solution.

That was just Coop-he called Curtis Enis Curtis Phenis-or something similar-on all his correspondence. Curtis was not pleased.

As far as QBs go, tOSU is picky for a good reason-there are not a ton of big time QBs produced within the state borders. tOSU did offer Roethlisberger and Quinn, but things worked out nicely w/out either of those guys. As the previous posters mentioned, Nate Davis is the only miss, and he could not have made it into tOSU academically anyway.
BTW, does anyone know where Devontae Payne signed?
