Point is that not many elite QB's come from Ohio...you could go on and on with great QB's from PA, CA, and TX. Beyond that, Hendrix is the only Ohio guy that I think is OSU caliber this year. However, I wouldn't mind seeing us get him if Montana and Godfrey didn't work out. I like Hendrix better than Bolden at this point, much more polished and as union has said, I think that's what the staff is looking for this year. The next elite QB will definetly be Miller but he is going to be the exception, not the rule.

Why does it matter where a player went to high school? Eddie George wasn't from Ohio; Beanie Wells and Maurice Clarett were. The difference? The out of state kid won the Heisman. How many people remember where these guys were from? Does it matter where Orlando Pace went? Korey Stringer? Did Alex Boone play harder because he was a "deserving Ohio boy"? Should we have welcomed Mike Adams with open arms, but left J.B. Shugarts to the Texas schools, or Mike Brewster to the Florida Big Three?
Why draw the arbitrary line at the Ohio border? Why not ask why JT and company don't recruit more Columbus or Central Ohio kids? Can't the City League or Catholic League put out talent?
As far as Ohio QBs go, the best college QB from Ohio in the past decade not named Troy Smith was probably Brady Quinn, who never had an iota of interest in playing at OSU. Not every kid who grows up in this state dreams of playing in the S&G, crazy as that seems to some of us, and sometimes a talented kid who grew up in another state has dreamed his entire life of being a Buckeye.
What I care about is -- will a player contribute, will he be a leadership asset, will he keep his grades up and his nose clean, will he become the best player he can be, and will he be a credit to the university both as a student and as an alumni? If the answer to all of that is "yes", he could be from Mars as far as I care.

Not saying that 3-stars can't become great college players, but you have to evaluate them based on what everyone thought of them when they were in HS.
Let's be specific. Which of these quarterbacks would you have wanted on the roster? Who would you have replaced on the OSU roster? Remember that we had Boeckman, Schoenhoft, and Henton.
Be honest. Had we hung our hat on any of these quarterbacks, would you have asked why we weren't recruiting out-of-state QBs?
