Holy shit. I know Gable is not in his heyday right now but damn that's a tough result to get against them and absolutely whitewashing Corn to boot? You wrestlers will know better how to sing the praises on this one but it sure seems like one hell of a meet result to me.

Smoke em if you got em in December. We might rest up some guys in January here and there, but this is a big chance to build a resume early for a lot of these guys. On Vegas, as noted above we skipped it this year.

OSU / BELLARMINE

125 Bouzakis gets a TF. The fact that Bouzakis is starting against Bellarmine at 125 this early in the season is noteworthy to me. 5-0

133 Davino with a minute and a half TF. 10-0

141 Mendez gets a TF in the third. 4-4 going into the second. AJ Rallo(4xer from Mizz, HS 167-17) got the first TD and made it tough for Mendez. "Slow start" or not for Mendez, I thought Rallo was game...till he wasn't. 15-0

149 Stiles gets a decision. You have to win the ones you're supposed to win. AA last season and I have to believe (because I really don't know) he'll get better as the season progresses... 18-0

157 Cannon with a TF. Looked good... 23-0

165 Paddy gets a TF. Looked good. He was able to get his hips under him right away and get easy TD's. That's been missing. 28-0

174 Kharch TF. Looked good. 33-0

184 Smith loses in SV ride outs. Bellarmine gets a, 'W.' 33-3

197 Geog with a decision. UGLY. I've been talking him up since his RS year. I know it's early but yikes. Shumate can't beat the guy we saw tonight!?!?! Lots of credit to Liber another Ohio kid out of Toledo. He showed more than Geog. 36-3

285 Feldman with a TF. Looked good. 41-3

Expected results for the Buckeyes.

What’s your take on Bouzakis/McCrone? Are you in the boat that Bouzakis can weigh in at 125 consistently, therefore will get the majority of the shots at the duals this season?

I am beyond pleasantly surprised he’s been able to get down there and still be able to wrestle about as good as he’s ever done so at OSU. It’s a good sign imo, especially if there are no signs of fatigue or wear and tear from the cut. Season is young, but there is a lot to be hopeful for with him.

Totally agree with you on Geog too. Not sure what’s going on there. Hew? Too much mass? No idea. Big fan of his and saw the upside, because I thought Shumate may have peaked in high school, but puzzling for sure.

Bouzakis has already exceeded my expectations. I would not have believed he would be down to weight and wrestling really well in Nov. at the first competition of the year. I like McCrone. No complaints about him. A couple head scratching losses but Bouzakis has his share as well. Bouzakis has a bigger upside I feel, but he can't beat McCrone or hasn't. I don't believe Bouzakis was able to get any NF points which shouldn't matter when you TF someone, but it does. I believe McCrone gets NF and possibly a fall if he had wrestled...

Geog beat Correa at Clarion who I believe is going to be a force, then gets a decision against a guy he should be outclassing by miles.
Liber being a Toledo kid coming into CBUS with no one giving him a chance competed at a level that we as fans love to see. Taking that into consideration...It's early and if Geog keeps the spot he must be beating Shumate convincingly in the room.

The first five Buckeyes (if they start at 125) need to set the tone for the next five (even in a loss). I believe if Stiles wins (I'm already counting Davino and Mendez) so does Cannon, Paddy and Kharch.

NCST should be looking to start anywhere but 125. If the don't they may only get bookend wins. The could give themselves a chance to win two in a row before they get to Davino.
