Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

#1 recruit at 113 and #6 overall Dom Munarreto from Illinois commits to the Buckeyes! (announcement below). He will fill out nicely at 125 when he hits the college mat and then you'll likely have Mills and Davino to follow. The major bonus is he will likely start at 125 his whole career which is rare in college. Big time luxury to not have to fill that spot any time soon.

For reference, he was teammates with current Buckeye Ben Davino and they'll likely be wrestling back to back for years to come chasing titles. If you don't follow wrestling recruiting, this is a top ranked 5* nationally in football for comparison. His accolades are too long to list, so just Google him to see his ridiculous resume. Ryan is on fire again on the recruiting front, in a couple years we're set to give PSU competition for the title with the right development and avoiding injuries.

In football, one likes to see recruits put on weight via muscle increases. In wrestling, one wants to see the muscle increase, but with little or no weight added. With the inevitable knowledge that as a kid grows, they add bone, muscle, and marbling. Not as much an aficionado as most on this page, but assume that coaches can/do recruit on the assumption that a kid will develop, and grow/eat/train into the next weight class. Enjoy the higher weight classes, and am always amazed at the lighter weights, and the ferocity with which they compete. Quicker as well.

Buckeyes just dominated Nebraska in the Semi-final 33-3. I caught a few of the matches. Cannon looked great against Taylor (huge win), Kharchla was pumped after his win against Munro, and I thought Fishback looked equally as good against Allred. Feldman maintained great composure against AJ Ferrari. From my phone, it looked like Ferrari was intentionally leading with his head on several occasions as he was taking his shots. Feldman got a take down at the end of the 2nd period, and Ferrari was crying about something and laid on the mat for a few minutes. For a second, I thought I was watching a soccer player get a phantom injury. Pussy. In the 3rd, he took a shot on Feldman and headbutted Feldman in the process again, causing him to get a split above his eye. Feldman got taken down, as he was stunned from getting clocked. Feldman escaped for a 5-4 lead. The match was stopped an another time after that for blood so they wrapped his head. Feldman managed to evade Ferrari’s aggressiveness, and that’s how it ended. You could tell Feldman was amped after that victory.

On to Iowa for the championship.
