Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Need a great day in consolation rounds for Bo and Courts. I like our chances in all 3 championship matches

1st place = 16 points
2nd place = 12 points

At worst they will end up with 36 points in the championship matches. Iowa only has one championship match but has quite a few consolations. Ohio State has 2.

It could be close. Then again, if they sweep the championships they'll win it going away I think.

WRESTLING BUCKS HAVE A DATE WITH HISTORY
Ryan GinnRyan Ginn

Ohio State senior wrestler Logan Stieber will go for history on Saturday, and so will his teammates.

Stieber easily advanced to the final at 141 pounds with a 12-2 major decision over Kevin Jack of North Carolina State. He’s one of three Buckeye wrestlers who will compete in the finals on Saturday – in addition to two more who can finish as high as third – in the hopes of giving the program its first national title.

Cont'd ...

Just got home a bit ago, what an incredible day of wrestling and a great show of heart from our wrestling Bucks. Oddly, I had the feeling we would go 3-2 and in the exact same fashion (I liked Toms, Logan, and Snyder to win). Regardless, Bo and Courts have very tough matches to start the day tomorrow...Bo faces Sulzer, who just beat Isaac Jordan 11-6 and Courts faces #3 Blake Stauffer, who has already beat him this year. I really think if we want to feel comfortable heading into finals, we need one of them to win that first match, or at the very least get a 5th place win. I feel very good about Tomasello tomorrow but Moisey is wrestling hot...still like Toms. Logan will likely beat Port but he is awfully tough and bonus would be awesome not only for team score, but the proverbial cheery on the top of one of the best wrestling careers ever in the NCAA...but bonus is unlikely, Port is too good. Snyder has a very tough matchup against Gadson, whom he lost to earlier in the year. I feel oddly confident he wins, but the least confident of the three (which is a good thing because I think Snyder wins).

But the 13.5 point lead is far from insurmountable. I love where we are at and all things considered, I do not think you could ask for much more. But as crazy as things have been, everyone but be ready to buckle up and prepare to get a little nervous tomorrow. But to think we are sitting at that spot with an injured Hunter Stieber...almost tantamount to winning a title without a Braxton Miller/JT Barrett. True champions have resilience and we have shown it tenfold thus far. C'mon boys, bring it home...we are right on the cusp. I know it because look at Ryan's face after the Snyder win...that said it all.

I also have to say it is a damn shame for Ian Miller...not from a team points perspective, but because I counseled him at camps, he is a great kid, and he won that match. They need some rule changes.
