Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

While in C'bus for holidays, went to see several games at the Schott. Two women and one men's games. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as well as the basketball shows put on. See the Lady Bucks playing well, and down low, they still need that person to provide instant offense off the bench, but they're closer to having one than the men's team is. In person, the players are all tall, but in relative terms, bigger than you and me. Have high hopes for both teams, (yeah, have scarlet & gray glasses on), but both need a coach that can coach in the clutch (and players that can execute).

For the past couple years I thought we'd be better off we had a coach that could implement a stifling 3-2 zone on the back end to assist with the height disadvantage while still capitalizing on the athletes playing guard. Also pulling back into that zone from the zone press is a smoother transition than trying to find your man after the chaos clears. Beating the press then might also hurt a little less when it occurs as well.

Glad for this game tonight to take the sting out of the transfer portal and the men's losses. Went be a gimme game by any stretch. RV(whatever the hell that means) Illinois is 10-0 at Home so this will be a battle.

Gotcha BB. Problem with a 3-2, is that if you're overmatched down low, the opponent pulls their guards back, drawing the D with them, and lobbing over our heads to the taller players. With Elsa and Kiki (?) down there now, your idea might have a chance of being implemented. Believe our bigs are getting better, and clearly the best since Dorkas. IMHO, the press is just a tad slow. Don't see much anticipation, but mayhaps they're afraid of making a mistake.
