Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

Unless tOSU lines up against a team with a huge, mobile center like UCLA has.....did read that Cotie and Jaloni are 'doing well', and 'expected to play' Friday, but that Elsa has a foot injury. Hopefully we'll see this team 'do everything right' during the Dance, and not look like the team that lost by 31 to UCLA, etc. Plenty of potential here, just hope McDuff and his assistants can channel the potential into wins. Not disagreeing with you Bestbuck, (haven't been a McDuff fan for awhile), so here's hoping we get to watch the Lady Bucks well into April. Go Bucks!

Ohio State Pulls Away with 24-0 Run and Defeats Montana State, 71-51, in First Round of NCAA Tournament

Game Notes

  • Ohio State is now 8-0 in first-round NCAA Tournament games under Kevin McGuff.
  • Watson returned to action for the first time since suffering an injury in Ohio State’s Feb. 13 win over Minnesota. She did not score.
  • Freshman center Elsa Lemmilä did not play due to a foot injury. She wore a walking boot on the bench.

Tennessee who beat UCF 101-66 will play Ohio State in the 2nd round Sunday.

Nice to see Chance find her shot once again. Seems like the guards are passing up the 3 more often than not. Jaloni especially. Hitting the 3 can/will cause the middle to open up. Truly enjoyed the 2-on-1 game, where center hits the forward cutting toward the basket. That two man (woman) game worked well. Hope to see that more often. Wish Cotie would drive, then stop and pop more often. Opposing players are setting up in front of her, and the refs are just itching to whistle her charge....Wish I could put my finger on it, but tOSU vaunted press wasn't working, but then it was. Not certain why, but apparent that we need those TO's. Finally, huge surprise to see that tOSU outscored Montana State in the paint, as well as offensive rebounds (do you think there might be a correlation?), great to see. And props to Montana State for the fight they put up in the first quarter and a half. Mentioned to the wife that didn't like the way the game was unfolding. Maybe McDuff's technical created a spark? Finally, the color folk, showed McDuff on sidelines, saying he was irate. Mentioned, yeah, he was raising his eyebrows a bit, so guess he was irate. Or maybe chewing his gum a bit harder.....

That should be a flagrant one. That was run into the person with my body then oh yeah I should swipe at the ball
McGuff never gets those calls for us. You can bet your ass if that were LSU, SC or UCONN the refs would have been ecstatic to call that for them. So frustrating. I get more frustrated over the women's shit than the mens
