Agree but he is what he is- combo scoring guard with a loose handle and inconsistent shot.
He'll also go out the next game and score 24 and reinforce that mentality.

we played #6. on the road. without our best all-around player.

Lyle and Loving got to be two of the most frustrating players in college hoops. Great performance by Jackson, Potter, Thompson and Tate. Wesson also gave some good minutes

lah-dee-freakin' duh. we all watched the game. anyone with a few firing neurons know that turnovers killed us.
again, none of that has squat to do with taking from the game the positives that should be obvious to anyone with a rudimentary understanding of basketball.

thompson in foul trouble was a game-changer also. he doesn't pick that pick that 3rd up i think they squeak it out.
looked great defensively (for the most part) and they should learn from this. but you try pulling that turnover crap against IU or sparty and they'll beat you by 40 in your own gym

I'll leave the hot takes for the others and let the emotions of losing that lead die down.
I think this one will take some time to see the true effects, honestly. I see some positives, but I'm not sure whether to call them sustainable or just being 'up' for an opponent. Virginia clearly turn their notch up a big after the first 10 minutes and the Bucks couldn't handle it. The good we saw may show up again and improve, but the bad may continue to be the same as previous years. I just don't see the basketball skills across the board to consistently win, but I'll be watching and rooting for improvement either way.

Well so far this season Potter is an improvement over Giddens and Jackson is an improvement over Harris. Williams has looked better (other than today) and Tate has been excellent. Lyle has all the tools but mentally doesn't seem to be there. Not that he doesn't care just that he doesn't seem to make smart plays. Thompson also looks improved

The turnovers were horrific, but can't complain too much in the grand scheme of things when you play a top-10 team on the road like that. Maybe there's hope for this season.

I didn't see any stats and don't want to look it up but I felt we were beat on the boards at critical moments giving them extra chances. I was getting frustrated that we kept making the same mistake where their guy would curl off the elbow, drive down the lane, help would step up and contest the shot, but we would not rotate and block out on the backside.
We played pretty great the first half. We got rattled to start the second and from 3:30 of the end of 1st to 4 mins into the 2nd we didn't get many shots off let alone good looks.
I was just disappointed at the end of the game when we made some bone headed mistakes. Lyle holding the ball out front forever then having to make a move to the basket with 5 on the shot clock and gets it stolen. Lyle fires a bad pass out of bounds. Loving fires a bad pass ob at 300 mph. Tate takes a damn 3 pt shot. Thompson's bad foul. Then I thought our last shot was not good. With 6.5 left we should have driven and tried to draw a foul then kick it for a 3. I just didn't like the 28 footer. Should be able to get a better look.
But I don't want to take anything away from an excellent defensive team either at their place. That would have been a quality road win for the committee in march.
