Virginia Tech - 35
Ohio State - 21

The Virginia Tech Hokies came in to The Shoe Saturday night and walked out with ending the 25 regular season game winning streak & Ohio State's 15 game home winning streak. A great game plan by the Virginia Tech staff left many Buckeye fans scratching their heads with the lack of in-game adjustments by the Buckeye staff. Not all the blame goes towards the staff though, as the Buckeyes didn't help themselves with multiple miscues in every facet of the game. After trailing 21-7 at the half, the Buckeyes battled back to tie the game at 21 early in the 4th quarter on an Ezekiel Elliott 15 yard run. That score would be the last for the Buckeyes, as more misuses would lead to more points for the Hokies, resulting in a 35-21 victory for the visitors.

Where do the Bucks go from here? Do they pick their heads up and march forward? Or do things get ugly quickly? Thankfully, the 0-2 Golden Flashes of Kent State come to Columbus next Saturday.

Despite the loss, there were some bright spots for the Buckeyes last night. It may be tough, but who gets your vote for Offensive & Defensive players of the game?

On a night that totally sucked to be a Buckeye fan, watching Joey Bosa play has to bring a glimmer of hope to every Buckeye fans eyes. I'm sure we'll only have him until after next year because top-5 NFL picks leave early, but this kid has a great shot to walk out of here right along the lines of a Jim Stillwagon. He is after a short period of time already a Buckeye "great." Buckeye legend is not that far behind. JMO

Peace

Im picking JT. Not because of his stats, not because he is the QB, and not because he was the focal point of our offensive attack.

Im picking JT because you show me another Freshman that has enough poise to get thrown all around the field for an entire half, throw 2 INTs, watch his team go down 21-7 at the half - in front of 107,000 people - and still come out of the locker room and play his heart out. He never got scared, he never shut down. The kid has crazy amount of heart and focus.

I'm not picking any single one selection. Not because someone on this team wasn't deserving but because they all deserve some recognition. These guys didn't quit. They played on no matter how bad things seemed to have gotten. IMO when the coaching starts living up to its potential..these kids are going to be amazing.

Football is a team sport, when you win everyone should get some credit. The same should apply when you lose too; everyone should take some blame, learn from their mistakes, and show up for the next practice and work even harder, etc. I think we can find fault (or definite areas that need improvement) with just about everyone on the team. The opposing team scores 35 points (and yeah I know the defense didn't allow their last TD) and the offense looked inept especially during crunch time. VaTech did miss a key field goal; however, they outplayed us in special teams too. I'm passing this week on naming any players of the game.

Frank Beamer undergoes throat surgery, expected to coach in bowl

A medical procedure has sidelined Frank Beamer for the short-term but isn’t expected to impact his postseason coaching availability.

In a statement sent out a short time ago, Virginia Tech confirmed that the Hokies head coach underwent successful throat surgery recently. Beamer is expected to coach the Hokies in their bowl game, the destination of which will be announced Sunday.

.
Beamer currently leads all active coaches with 271 wins. His 271st win came against in-state rival Virginia in the regular season finale, pushing Tech’s record to 6-6 and extending the nation’s second-longest bowl streak.

Amazing how bad Virginia Tech was this year and they still beat us.
