Thus my post. What is the distance between the left hash and the sideline in college...15-18 yards? (too lazy to Google it now). No way the kicker should ever kick it out of bounds, even when trying to "place it".

Right? If you know you're pulling it as a right-footer, aim for the hash.

I'll go on record as being okay with the kicks OB. Aim for halfway between the hash and the sideline so a poor kick goes OB or to the hash. If you aim for the hash and miss and it goes to the middle of the field, that is bad news. I mean....they've started at the 15, the 35, and the 14 so far -- average of 21 yard line. 3 kicks through the endzone is the 25, so they are still coming out ahead. It IS aggravating when it happens, but I'd rather that than a 50 yard return because the kick strayed to the wrong side of the field.

Yeah but kick coverage is just killing it so far.
