I want this win so bad... it's comical how they talked about ped having us circled . You kidding me? They beat us last year...then you add how much they talked up their victory over us after winning the big ten and it's COMICAL to insinuate they have the mental edge in this game.

They beat us and they're ranked higher. Good luck telling our boys ped has more motivation

The inference is that PSU will be motivated over the CFP slight.

Haha fucked up 27... but I actually no joke said that to my wife tonight.

When Barkley went all Drew Tate after his touchdown I said very angrily "I've never wanted a team plane to crash before until right now". They shouldn't have a program and instead here we are playing a very good ped team. In a top 5 showdown no less.

The way their team celebrates is just way too much for me to handle. Way too much.

A couple of thoughts after the TSUN game...

  1. Penn State is a good team. They can beat the Buckeyes, if Ohio State is not on their game. The Buckeyes cannot "come out flat after a bye week", lose the first quarter, and not really harm their chances of victory.
  2. TSUN simply is terrible on offense. Terrible. QB whisperer? Puhleeze.
  3. TSUN playcalling, even planning on both sides of the ball, was a fail. Coaching was a real problem and they did not have a good game plan for Penn State.
  4. Unfortunately, I don't think that Penn State really got much of a physical game from the Wolverweenies.
  5. Penn State does not like uptempo. Run it against them the whole game and they could collapse. The ability to rotate Dobbins and Weber will be a big plus for Ohio State.
  6. They also don't like changing defensive looks. When TSUN changed from man to zone and back in the second quarter, McSorley was very confused.
  7. The bubble screen is going to be open all day. Set up the run, hit a few long passes, and Penn State is going to show you vulnerabilities. JT Barrett, there is a call for you on line 1.
  8. What is it about TSUN defensive players, fake dreadlocks, and running behind opposing players on the way to the end zone?
  9. McSorley is a good QB, but he has several weaknesses pointed out in the game thread. He has been getting away with throwing the high ball. Buckeye defenders need to turn their heads, for the possible interceptions and to avoid the pass interference calls.
  10. Despite the histrionics and talk, Barkley is not a Heisman candidate. He is a threat because of his ability to come out of the backfield as a receiver and bounce runs outside. The Buckeye defense will need to play disciplined football and keep to their assignments.
  11. This is Ohio State's last game of the regular season against a top-ranked opponent. Make it count.

Our LBs looked bad covering RBs out of the backfield against Oklahoma. It seems like our base defense- man-ing up across the board and asking our LBs to potentially cover Barkley- is a recipe for failure.

That and LBs man-ing up against Gesicki is also less than ideal.

A big part of Penn State’s offense seems to be moving Barkley around pre-snap to find mismatches on the defense.

I’m curious if we will adjust and do something different given how obvious this is going in.

It will help for the defense to pay attention to who is taking the snap. On Barkley’s second-play-of-the-game direct-snap touchdown run, Rashan Gary (living up to the Peppers most hyped player in the conference legacy) put on a full 7 yards up-field pass rush and opened up about a 7 yard running lane at the LOS.
