Game Thread Ohio State vs Penn State, 10/28/17 @ 3:30 ET (FOX)

Really interested to see what the offensive game plan is for this one. Curious to see what the staff actually thinks the strengths of the offense are. Curious to see if we try to pound the run, or if the passing game actually is a threat and can be used as a primary weapon in a game against a good team.

Anything other than the Oklahoma game plan and this team is headed in the right direction. They've come a long way, and now isn't the time to fall of the wagon.

Defensively, I'm worried about McSorely's squirelliness. Hopefully his moxie gets him inducted into pick six university.

If only Iowa and Wisconsin had the team speed to match the pedsters they have both won easily. Its about matchups...big plodding teams like Wisky and Iowa and even scUM in their current state lack the foot speed.
Last year our boys were up 20-7 until Beck and the right tackle happened. And they still out gained the cult by 200 yards.

Have faith in the Buckeyes...I truly feel a plunger coming.
I needed this lol... I do think we are the more athletic team though and I found it promising as I said that even Michigan was gaining the edge on them and even O'Korn was running for yards on them. Also to note that many of the successful plays through the air for scum were crossing routes.

Has anyone mentioned the weather?..... 100% chance of rain. Not sure how that works around the 3:30 kickoff but it's going to be damp somehow I bet

Last rain game I went to was the loss to MSU...... and I will be there for this game too. Hoping for a better outcome
This has been talked about a lot on the radio today and I'm surprised none of them talk about how this will help us if it does rain. We lost that MSU game because they had the offense for nasty conditions and we don't (added with trash coordinators) in comparison. That said Ped isn't a under center and power team they're very similar to us so it boils down to a few things to ask yourself...

who runs the ball better? We do.
who's the stronger runner at QB? JT.
Who likes to throw the ball deep? They do.
Which defense is best suited to stop the run? That's ours.

If it rains then whatever it'll only help us and hurt them.

I hope you're right Buckyle... I'm torn on this one.

One of the more underlying fears I have in this one is Trace and his propensity to simply be a winner. Down 21 to Wisconsin wasn't too much for him, making a last second throw to beat Iowa wasn't too big for him, and the guy just seems to play well when they need it.

We need JT to outplay Trace.
I'm right. I feel strongly about this. PSU won't know what hit em. It's going to be a fun night.

We're working 6 days a week but I pulled some strings and got Saturday off. I emailed Urban and let him know I'll be watching and he swore to me that it would be worth losing $300+ of OT to watch this game.

You make good points. I agree with you on the surface. That said when you're soaked sitting in a Taco Bell outside of Columbus shoving a quesadilla into your mouth to soothe the pain that shit stays with you man lol

haha I get you... Just remember that our DL vs their OL is not a good look for them. Then on the flip side their DL doesn't have a Calhoun or a McDowell.

Not to mention if the rain is really bad don't think for one minute we don't put another DL on the field and run with 5 DL's to shut them down.
