Game Thread Ohio State vs Oklahoma, 09/09/17 @ 7:30 ET (ABC)

This. JT Barrett seems too afraid to make the difficult throws. I like that he's been turnover free, but it's coming at a severe cost. Need to air it out, and hope the receivers can get up and make a play.

Or we could use his legs and our runnings backs, then run play action off it?

Everyone keeps bashing JT but I don't see anything promising from our receivers. Maybe it not just JT. It seems to me we focused so much on making our receivers good blockers that we forgot their main function it to get separation and catch the damn ball.

Yeah, gotta agree here. The receivers need to catch the ball in tight quarters too. This isn't all on JT.

It's not just JT. But he's a part of the issue, along with one glaring weakspot on the OL. Now, hopefully all of the above come out in the 2nd half and make me eat those words.

JT threw what should have been a long TD pass. He can't catch it.

I think "JT holds the ball" is more about our WRs, so let's get the running game going...maybe that'll help them get open. Maybe they'll even catch it?

I get what your saying. But I haven't seen JT Barrett throw a receiver open since 2014. The only time he throws it to a receiver is when he sees one with no defender within 5 yards of him.

I don't think it's a coincidence that JT had his best year when throwing to Devin Smith, Michael Thomas, and Jalin Marshall. And the last two years the receiving core has stayed the same. No JT didn't get worse from his freshman year, these receivers haven't gotten better.
