Game Thread Ohio State vs Northwestern, 10/29/16, 3:30pm ET ESPN/WatchESPN

JT looks pretty good. Weber has had some good flashes. What gives on the offense? My .02 is they go East/West too much and not enough North/South letting teams read and react. Zeke did most of his damage off tackle and wham blocks. Let's get back to that and play action on positive downs.

Rush more than 4 on defense and we'll be fine there.

Don't know what the hell the punt team is doing but it needs fixed immediately.
I agree with most of this, although I would like to see JT pull the ball down after 4 seconds and just go. This is what made him so special. Weber is a strong off-tackle runner, so quit trying to force him further out, leave that to Samuel. Why not more Samuel and Weber together in the backfield? NW is running the same 4-5 plays against us and it is working. Hell they ran 3 straight slants on the last drive they scored on. I still think the D will be okay if they come inside with some blitzes. That blitz by Hooker was close and should show itself again....

I'm over the 'this is actually a good team' I used to believe that and while NW has played fine so far, how much of that is due to us making them look good? We seem to make a lot of teams look good then they [Mark May] the bed after playing us. While credit is due to Nw, it's not like we're playing lights out. Stupid false start penalties that are still there halfway through the season, dropped passes, o line giving up plays and JT have some indecision still. Not Ohio State football.

This is a young team that was flattered by early success. Right now, they seem to be a bit shattered. I'm betting that the second half they put at least 31 on the board and give up no more than 10.

Still feel this a good team. The problem is coaching. need to run more. JT needs to run more. Defense needs to play more aggressive. Everyone still looks like we have all day so no rhythm.

56-5 and leading at halftime yet every week a new coach needs to be fired. Last week everyone says the defense was amazing, now it's terrible. Spoiled fanbase

Agreed. But message boards would be a lil dull if every post was "Urban Meyer is a very good coach. We are a very good team. I trust we will win this football game."

Some of the criticisms are valid too. This is a passing offense that has been under performing for about 20 games now. Not sure why that wouldn't be discussed.

We don't have a deep threat WR. Our best options are Samuel, Wilson, and Brown on short-intermediate routes.
