The No. 4 Buckeyes (5-0 overall, 2-0 Big Ten) are back home this weekend for the first prime time game in the Horseshoe since Oklahoma in 2017.

They will face off with No. 25 Michigan State, who enters with a 4-1 record, including 2-0 in Big Ten play.

This week, a couple Buckeye stars are closing in on some of the biggest names in school history in the record books.

Plus, how this year’s team is turning every game into a half-day of work, a homecoming of sorts for about a quarter of Michigan State’s roster, and looking to continue a long win streak for actual Homecoming games.

6.1, 1.9
The Buckeyes have rushed for an average of 281.6 yards per game this season, including a season-high 368 last weekend at Nebraska. They’re averaging 6.1 yards per carry this year, an incredible number.

Michigan State has allowed just 55.5 yards per game on the ground this fall on a very impressive 1.9 yards per carry.

20+
The Buckeyes have scored at least 20 points in 31 straight games, tied with UCF for the second-longest streak in the country.

The last time the Buckeyes were held under 20 was the 2016 Fiesta Bowl against Clemson.

28
Michigan State has 28 players from Ohio on its roster this year. That ranks second behind Michigan (52) for the most Spartans from any state.

Perhaps more importantly, they have one Australian. And yes, he is a punter, although not the starter.

40, 40, 40, 40
The Buckeyes are just the second Big Ten team to win four consecutive games by 40+ points since the end of World War I.

The only other team to do it was the 1974 Ohio State squad.

This is the biggest average margin of victory for any OSU team through five games since Chic Harley was playing.

60-5
Ohio State has won 60 of its last 65 conference games going back to the arrival of Urban Meyer in 2012.

They went 3-5 in 2011, meaning that the program has lost as many conference games since the 2011 season as they did during that one year.

Michigan State has handed the team two of those losses. One came in the 2013 Big Ten Championship Game, the other in the Horseshoe in 2015. That’s the only home conference loss the team has suffered during that stretch.

The only other losses came at Penn State (2016) at Iowa (2017), and at Purdue (2018).
