When was the last time that we had the #3 passer, the #2 RB and the #1 Reciever in the Big 10? Plus, Zwick is up to #5 in passing efficiency. Now, all that AND we aren't in the top 5 in rush defense?
2 games, man. Its only 2 games.

I think we can have a three headed moster if Lydell and the Oline would get on the same page. They have no trouble protecting Zwick. He has time to fix lunch and do his nails in the pocket. But the holes are few and far between for Ross and when there is one, Ross runs right into someone.

I have to disagree with that statement, there was numerous holes on Saturday that Ross either didnt see or was not quick enough to get through, the kid runs with his head down, someone please tell him to stop and see the field.....newsflash lydell.......utilize the cut back one time please!

I think JT is the best coach in the history of tOSU. The only time I have ever been disappointed with, was against Michigan last year. Imho the team was not sky high as they were for other big games. I resigned myself to ; every one absent Jesus Christ, is going to have at least one bad day.

I'm sitting there in the south stands at field level and all I saw all day was white shirts where Lydell was trying to go.

There is two sides of it from c deck, the holes are not being blown open like they should be, the holes that are there could better be described as cracks.

The other side of it is Lydell, (or whoever is in there), needs to come into the hole with all of his speed, power, and size and not worry if someone is in the hole. He squated like 600lbs or something rediculous like that, if someone is there he should be able to knock them backwards if not break it. If he does that I think he would turn those 1-2 yarders into 3-5 yarders which will make a big difference. If he bangs in there enough eventually they will break down.

The vision to find the weak spots he just doesn't have, I have been frustrated by this for 3 years now. Since that is the case pick somewhere to go, and then go get them.

Not to nitpick, but don't most folks use efficiency as the measure in ranking passers vice yardage? At least that's what they do in the NFL...

The play I remember most was on a run that Ross tried to bounce to the outside left. He had a ton of daylight outside, but one of the Marshall defenders was able to dive at him and get a HAND on one of Lydell's feet. Instead of running through the HAND Ross lost his balance and fell down. At this point I was in shock and decided it was time for me to give up on him. Someone who squats as much as Lydell should not have a problem running through arm tackles. I think we need to get Pittman and Haw more time to see if they can do better.

I am not sure I buy into the whole he was hiding him. If that was the case why play him the first game vs Cincinatti? Well, I guess there could be lots of reasons. I am not sure, but I do know Tressel has pulled some pretty cool things out of his hat when big games were on the line, so we will see.

i think tress was hiding pittman for the NC State game. i doubt he thought the game would be that close. i hope im right.

Coach T was asked after the game why pittman didn't play and he said that pitt got hurt(not injured, just tweaked) his hamstring, on that long run last week. And that it would be in the better interest of Pitt and the team to rest him so that he would be fresh for the NC State game.

I don't think it is time to "bench" Lydell but there is more than enough reasons to start giving other folks some carries. Lydell NEEDS to start playing with more urgency. Wells was just going through the routines at TB until Lydell showed up against Indiana, I think if Lydell waits that long he is going to lose his spot. I want nothing more than to see Ross explode and take this TB spot and establish a great ground game, but if he is not going to step up get someone who will. He was the only RB with any carries on Saturday. Yuk. I know Pittman was dinged but Hall should have gotten a carry at least. Haw, that will be a little tricky as you don't want to have a fumble (like Ross didn't hand off to Marshall anyway) so I will not guess as to why he did not get a chance.

Anyway, don't bench Lydell. He is still gaining positive yards (most of the time) but we do need to start seeing some other backs getting the rock on occasion. This could very well play right into Brandon Joes hands. He will be back just as our running game is looking for a savior. Lets see it happen!

I truthfully doubt that JT is playing his hand that tight to the vest. I can't imagine he would almost blow this game to keep a player a mystery. It just would be crazy to do something like that. If he is doing something like that he is a wizzard. I just don't understand why you would chose to not show your best RB.

The QB play, as Millani pointed out due to poor decession becoming turnovers is also a concern. The talent is there but I don't know that he is making the smart choices/sees what he should be looking at yet.

One of the biggest things that is being overlooked is that Joe has yet to play a down this year. I think that once he gets in there and starts to take on blockers and even run the ball of have a threat of running the ball it will take a load off of everybody in the game.
