Jesus, I've never felt much animosity towards IU, but I just skimmed their rivals board....and fuck these fucking fucks. Other than the whole pedophile cult [Mark May], that board has a creepy bwi vibe. These candy stripe pants wearing morons should be bending down and kissing our bucknuts for keeping their AD solvent and letting them live the illusion that they're a big boy athletic school. I hope Urban hangs 80 on them.
This deserves to be re-posted:

Son, we live in a conference that has athletic budgets, and those athletic budgets have to be balanced by schools who go to major bowls and turn on cable boxes. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Purdue? Ohio State has a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for the Hoosiers, and you curse the Buckeyes. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that Hoosier losses, while tragic, probably balance budgets; and Ohio State's existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, balances your budget.

You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about during basketball season you want us in that playoff-- you need us in that playoff.

We use letters like "O" and "H" and "I" and "O" again. We use these letters as the backbone of a life spent building something. You use them as a punch line.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a university whose athletic department rises and balances its books under the blanket of the very revenue that we provide and then questions the manner in which we provide it.

I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you fill up your stadium and go to some major bowls. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think IU is entitled to!

The Hoosiers looking for their second upset in as many weeks will start on offense going right to left on your TV screen...

From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that tears down these goalposts with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in Ohio now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That tore down Indiana's goalposts this day.

I saw coach said Indiana has a better defense thend what Oklahoma brought... what do you guys think about that?

I have two completely separate thoughts about that.

  1. Oklahoma has better players, but Indiana is, thus far, playing better defense.
  2. While Indiana is playing better defense thus far, the difference is not significant. The vast majority of the statistical difference between the two is accounted for by the fact that Indiana has not yet faced an offense as good as Houston, Ohio State or TCU.
I expect that the Sooners will gain confidence and improve as the season progresses. Indiana's confidence is fixin' to get a steel-toed boot to the giblets.

Blessed to say I've never experienced an IU loss and I don't plan on it happening any time soon.

Oh, I had the pleasure of witnessing it live at the Shoe in 1987. We just kept looking at each other in disbelief. Of course, that was also the year we experienced this stunner: :eek:

I sat right behind our band that year, about fifteen rows in front of Neutron Man

That being Chris Spielman's last game in the 'Shoe was the most painful part of that very painful year.

The emotions precipitated by that loss in turn precipitated the badly mishandled firing of Coach Bruce.

I firmly believe that there's no earthly way that the Buckeyes would've beat TSUN that year if it hadn't been for how they felt personally about the firing of their coach
