First game for the Qb, four new O line starters, first game in zone D, so a perfect game wasn't expected. I'll take it and I think we'll be just fine.

First quarter looked like playoff team. Defense was championship caliber for 2.5 quarters. What's crazy is that FAU's offensive stats aren't good at all. barely 200 yards passing and 23 (23!!!) yards rushing is fucking terrible. The offense fucking around for 3/4ths of the game probably made this look uglier than it should've been.

Mostly new coaching staff, QB getting his first start, and replacing some key players on both sides of the ball. Go up 28-0 and then took their foot off the gas, throwing them out of rhythm. Not worried.

You know you're a good team with a spoiled fan base when a 45-21 win isn't satisfying enough, but that's the Buckeyes' fault.

Hope to see some growth from this one when the Juggalos come to town next weekend.

Couple things.

1. We stopped after the 1st
2. Under the center on 1st and 10 isn't great.
3. Defense did great considering the spots they were put in.

On the bright side, this team showed signs of greatness. Still a lot that can be improved.

Defense doesn’t look completely broken and disjointed like they did last season. LBs got lost in Cover 3 a few times. It’s tough to stay disciplined in your zone when you’ve spent your entire career chasing people around in man. The growing pains will be there, but I don’t think it’s time to completely scrap the idea. Chase Young needs to stay healthy, because he’s damn near unblockable.

Offensively, I loved the aggressive playcalls early on. Love how involved the TEs were throughout the game, not just as a wrinkle to the offense. JK and the OL still have some things to work out, but I think a lot of that is getting that familiarity with the front 5. Love the rotations at WR, but wouldn’t be opposed to going with the top three when the yards are needed.

Overall, not a bad debut for Day.
