Ohio State Vs Cleveland State (Tuesday 8:30 EST BTN)

Can't see the game tonight but I notice Simmons isn't in the box score. Is there a particular reason for his absence?

He was in early in the 1st half.

Kept asking my dad when he was going to get in.

I have no clue, maybe I missed something (very possible), but I'm scratching my head. Matta has to get some minutes for him.

He spent the 2nd half in his warm-up jacket.

There have been some games this year where FT's kept the other team in it. Last night was a night where the FT's put the opponent out. If Lighty can continue to shoot them like he did during the 2nd half last night, both he and the team become a lot more dangerous.

PJ Hill was stifling Norris Cole, the Vikings leading scorer. Cole ended up scoreless and 0-10 from the field. :banger:

The job he was doing on the defensive end made him irreplaceable last night, IMO. If I'm recalling correctly, the 13-3 lead evaporated when Hill went out in the first half.

Right on Bucky. Your post summarizes most of my thoughts regarding the game especially the free-throw shooting and Hill. I guess the one thing, and I might start sounding like cbf40 :) , is why when Hill starts and is playing well lately was doing last night Matta still brings in Simmons before the 5 minute mark. Hill hit a three pointer and was playing some intense defense and all of a sudden here comes Simmons and he did not play very well for some reason.

Agreed. He seems to set his rotations and rides them, pretty much no matter what happens. I'm sure it helps the bench guys to know when they are coming in, but it always perplexes me when a guy comes out knocking down his jumpers but gets substituted for anyways. Coach Matta definitely seems to favor a set pattern over riding the hot hand.
