Would like to see some Cover 1 Press looks to slow the run game on Saturday. Disguise your Cover 3, then surprise with the man coverage. Love what we’ve seen so far from a scheme standpoint, and the safeties and LBs looked to be in the right places making plays for the most part against FAU. Hope they continue to build off of that, and continue to grow as a group. I think the defense will come out fired up in this one, and set the tone early.

That's exactly what we did early in the game against FAU and I bet that's the plan against UC too.

There’s no way you are throwing against Okudah, Wade, and even Arnette (he looked REALLY good on Saturday) when they successfully jam the receivers at the line. Should give Chase all the time he needs for some pressure.

I mean if UC had the skill at WR to win some battles once in a while I could see them getting their share. They don't though and the lack of balance will kill UC.

And then didn’t put up those numbers after that. Not convinced that our offense is strong yet. Not saying it can’t get there, but what I saw was something that struggled to move the ball on the ground and was average in the air after the first quarter. Hope things take a big step forward against Cincy.

It was just one game but they showed the potential to be unstoppable. We've seen high gear and now it's just about maintaining a higher RPM so to speak.

Sure. And I hope they are able to take that one quarter and make that more of the norm. But I suspect it is a work in progress and I doubt it progresses a great deal next week. One can hope that the pieces come together to make a really solid unit as the year progresses.

Expecting that 1st quarter performance as a norm is foolish but expecting a more even performance I think is not.

I am fully expecting this offense to top the yardage we put up against FAU (450-500) and about the same points (35-49). Simply because I think we don't have another 2 quarters like we did from midway through the first through midway of the 3rd.
