I can't stand it that Norte Dame is not in a conference. They should be forced to join one. All of the top teams all played in conference championship games today. Like the announcers said, there will be some pissed off Big 10 officials if a big 10 champion doesn't make it in. Norte Dame should be punished for their lack of intestinal fortitude to join a conference. They played mediocre against USC and now they won't play again u till the playoff.....

This. After everything they’ve been through, to still finish 12-1 and win the Big Ten Championship. Wow. What an accomplishment.

Oh and lets not forget absolutely fucking destroying those fucking shit bags from up north.

As much as I’d love this team to be in the playoffs, fighting for a national championship, I’m happy. You really couldn’t ask for a better ending to the season. Well done, men.

Not only did they play bad against then 5-6 USC, we beat common opponents (scUM and NW) by 23 and 21 points while they beat them by 7 and 10 points.

The whole reason Big 12 scrambled to get a championship game was to not keep getting left out of the playoffs. Based on the committees own standards of conference championships being critical this should essentially count as a loss against them due to forfeit. Taking UCFs injury situation out of the equation... had they not had that UNC game canceled they should be sitting at 13-0. I don't know how they could make the argument of UCF below ND in that situation but I know they would.

ND didn't lose this season, but they were rarely ever dominate and they almost lost a handful of weak games. The margin of victory was one score or less to the following teams:
Ball St
Vanderbilt
Pitt
USC

You can't have squeaked by 4 times to some aweful teams and have no conf championship and be rated so high. I would argue a single really bad to a mid tier team and being otherwise dominate and winning your conference is better than that shit.

I'm not saying I want OSU in the playoffs or that they deserve it, but just saying ND does not. I am pretty confident we would beat ND more often than not despite our D. UGA and OU are also better and UCF probably would beat them also.

As much as it would digust me to see UGA in and a rematch of the rematch, i would take it to see the domers booted and forced to play in a championship going forward. UGA is better than ND and supposedly it's suppose to be the 4 best teams period, and ND is not one of the 4 best despite being undefeated.

It cuts both ways, though. ND would be out this year if they had lost a game. There is no margin for error for them in almost any season - whenever ND loses a single game, all the other top contenders will have a better resume, aided by that extra game.

Argument doesnt hold if Notre Dame has to play Clemson in the ACC game. One of them would have to lose and it's most likely ND. Everyone else has to play an elimination game except for Notre Dame.

Imagine if we didn't have to play Purdue, we be undefeated too lol.

The only thing they have going for them is that they beat the #2 and #3 best B1G team which unfortunately is going to be enough to convince the committee to let them in.

I agree. And I don’t even think it would’ve been close if Clemson/Notre Dame played. They’ve scraped by all season. They narrowly escaped a Michigan team that fashions its offense like its 1975. They struggled against NW that has literally no secondary. Ball fucking State nearly pulled a Toledo (:lol:). There isn’t much to like from Notre Dame this season. Literally the only thing going for them is their unblemished record. One loss, and they aren’t even in consideration.

Solid DC. Shit head coach.

Edit: if he feels like ditching the hope of being a HC (like after this season), I’d gladly take him as Schiano’s replacement. He had some seriously aggressive secondary at MSU coupled with some well timed blitzes. He didn’t have the most talented guys either, and still managed to tear it up.

I took video of Carmen Ohio after... it's always my favorite part.
For a second i was worried theyd just go back to lockers after the dog and pony show... but that didnt happen
