Saw that Klatt mentioned in a Twitter video a week or so ago that he and Gus would be in Columbus for the game. Guessing it’ll be a nooner.
It's been a hell of a season though. Most fun I've had watching an OSU team in awhile.I'm in depression mode realizing that the regular season is halfway over. Football season just goes way too fast.
Pedsters seem to check a lot of these boxes, but I haven't watched a lot of them this year so not sure how much of their wins have been a mirage.I'll put more thought into this later but we have a pretty good idea of the template you need to hurt this OSU team. I'm just going to start looking at each remaining B1G opponent and seeing how many of those boxes they check.
Needs:
- Solid, or better, OL
- Accurate QB who can get the ball out quickly (functional mobility is a plus)
- Athleticism at WR
- Stout, disruptive DL (premium on these things up the middle)
- Athletic back 7
- Experienced/well coached enough to play multiple defenses/mix coverage's to confuse both Fields and his OL
- A team wide toughness and refusal to be intimidated
That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure others could add to or question some of my assumptions.
That exercise aside, I don't see NU checking off many of those boxes.
Not sure who, besides Wisky, is left in the B1G that does.
So you're saying Rutgers is last in the nation in scoring offense?Ohio State is 4th in the B1G in scoring defense
Ohio State is 4th in the nation in scoring defense
Northwestern is second to last in the B1G in scoring offense

They got outgained by Buffalo and almost lost to Pitt at home. Their defense is legit but they'll struggle to find much balance against us on offense.Pedsters seem to check a lot of these boxes, but I haven't watched a lot of them this year so not sure how much of their wins have been a mirage.

Basically it... they aren't anything special other than Hamler.Yeah, Clifford isn’t nearly the playmaker at QB that McSorley was. Once you take away the run, they aren’t left with a whole lot. It’s important to shut the quick slants/outs game EARLY as I don’t think throwing down the field or running the ball will get the job done.
I love having a bye after MSU and then again after Wisconsin. The two most physical teams on the schedule and we have a chance to heal up after.NW isn't the same team as it was last year. This could be another blow out. The bye week came at a great time for some of our players to rest and heal up for a potentially challenging last part of the season. The fact that its another night game will give the nation another chance to see what may very well be the best team in the nation.

Then we get two push overs before PSU/scUM.
