Scouting the Badgers, what might we expect Saturday!

The Buckeyes will have the fresh memory of their toughest match of the Big Ten season in their nightmares tonight. Tucker will not let them rest on their successes this year as they prepare to face Wisconsin Saturday 10 am in the semis of the tournament.
Until the tight 4-3 victory over the upset minded Badgers April 25, the Buckeyes Big Ten single's record was a combined 50-4, an amazing 93% win percentage. Wisconsin contributed 2 more losses to that record and gave Matt Allare his only Big 10 loss of the year.
The Buckeyes double's record prior to Wisconsin was 25-2 for an identical win percentage. The Buckeyes also had a 19 match streak winning the double's point. Wisconsin ended that run becoming the only B10 team that captured the double's point against the Bucks. Among the 2 doubles losses on the day were #1 Buchanan and Marcan's only loss in the B10.
Saturday's semi will offer tOSU a repeat of it's toughest test of the season. Wisconsin's #1 double's will be seeking another upset of Marcan and Buchanan. It should bear watching to see if Chase puts on that extra gear, adrenaline face, and carries the team to a lopsided win.
Matt Allare also has cause for some extra motivation at the 5 or 6 spot.
I have to believe Ty is counting on Allare to rise up and capture one of the 4 needed victories.
Last Sunday Kronauge and Buchanan elevated their games to battle back in the 3rd set against the 22nd and 26th ITA ranked single's players. I can't imagine Tucker is counting on both those victories on Saturday. He knows he will need points elsewhere.
All in all this will be an opportunity for the Buckeyes to make a statement in their attempt at a five peat.
For Wisconsin, they just match up so well through the line up. Thankfully the Buckeyes have the Big Ten coach of the year to provide leadership. I have to believe Tucker will do some strong motivation work to energize the team. Ty is a master at the study of opponent's weaknesses, strategizing to exploit an edge and passionate coaching, bringing out the best effort in his team.
Tucker can't be too comfortable because with the help of some unexpected upsets Badgers could possibly steal one against the 1 seed.
Buckeye fans not in Bloomington can monitor the match online at 10 am thru livestats.

Buckeyes advance to 7th straight Big Ten Tournament final.

It has become a familiar situation for the Ohio State men's tennis team. For the seventh-consecutive season, the fourth-ranked Buckeyes will contend for the Big Ten Tournament title after shutting out No. 27 Wisconsin, 4-0, Saturday at the IU Tennis Center in Bloomington, Ind. Ohio State will face the winner of the Michigan/Illinois match at noon Sunday in the tournament final.
The Buckeyes (31-1; 11-0 Big Ten) are the four-time defending tournament champions after runner-up finishes in 2004 and 2005.With the victory over Wisconsin, Ohio State extended its Big Ten Tournament win streak to 14. The 11-year coaching veteran also has led the Buckeyes to 115 wins in their last 120 league matches.

After the Buckeyes edged the Badgers, 4-3, less than a week ago in Madison to earn its fifth-straight regular-season conference crown, they again were tested by Wisconsin in both teams' efforts to reach the final.
One crucial difference from the matchup last weekend - Ohio State won the doubles point Saturday, but it was not an easy victory. Momentum appeared to remain with Ohio State as straight-set singles victories ensued. Buchanan's 6-3, 6-4 win against 22nd-ranked Baumann at No. 1 gave the Buckeyes a 3-0 advantage. The 2010 Big Ten Player of the Year, the ninth-ranked Buchanan has won 18 consecutive matches, which is second only to Kronauge's 23 for the team lead.
Novak sealed the Buckeye victory after he collected his 33rd win of the season. An owner of 14-straight wins, Novak handed Chris Freeman a 6-3, 6-4 loss at the fourth position.

Mr. Tennis,

You worry too much:) these teams must realize that playing for the Big Ten championship is a little different than the regular season. We take care of Illinois 4-0 during the season and I would not be surprised to see a very similar outcome today.

On a side note, word on the street is that Tucker has a big time commitment from a high school junior so I have no idea when this :osu:train will be stopped.

Keep up the good work :highfive:

Litl great to hear from you again and much thanks for the word on the street!
Big Ten finals match from Bloomington is underway.
BTW the final score of the Ill vs. tOSU match in regular season was 6-1.
Would take a 4-0 score for this one, however the Illini are geared for the upset.
OSU has replace Illinois as the dominant team in the Big Ten. That does not go down easy with either the Illini or the Worlverines who have ruled the B10 tennis world for decades.
Go Bucks!

nice to be back... I think:) Why don't they just play the singles matches first and get it over with. Not only in this match but in all matches. Don't see the rationale behind it but I know something must be behind it:io:
