Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

Next up is former Florida Gator, Ben Shelton. He just turned pro in the last year after winning an NCAA title. Won 3 straight Challenger Titles (“minor” league) already. Interesting to get former college tennis kids to match up. Good for that side of the sport.

The kid is big, strong and has a heavy serve. Loves to attack net / serve + volley and he plays with a lot of fire.

JJ can outshoot him in a baseline battle. And I think some experience may help. It would never be easy getting into the last 8 of a major and this is a big test but JJ can play his game, pick his break spots and win.

Broadcast was giving a lot of love to the Buckeyes (THE Ohio State, OH-IO).
Ben Shelton had never been outside the USA until his current trip for the Aussie Open. Hopefully JJ sends him home.
