BUCKEYES DEFEND HOME COURT, DOWN NO. 1 USC

Ohio State concluded the weekend with another Pac-12 win over the No. 1 USC Trojans. This marks the second consecutive week that Ty Tucker and the Buckeyes have defended home court against the No. 1 team in country.

In doubles, the atmosphere was electric as the clinching point came down to two tiebreakers on both court one and court three. Kyle Seelig and Cannon Kingsley led the way with a hard-fought 6-4 victory on court three. After being tied up 4-4, James Trotter and Justin Boulais pulled aaway with a 7-6(5) win in the tiebreaker to gift the Buckeyes a 1-0 match lead.

In singles, Cannon Kingsley upset the No. 1 Daniel Cukierman with an impressive 6-4, 6-2 victory to extend the Buckeye lead. Freshman Justin Boulais fell on court four to No. 15 Mor Bulis 2-6, 2-6 to give the Trojans their first match point. John McNally controlled the tempo in a dominant 6-3,6-4 win over No. 24 Brandon Holt. Kyle Seelig fell 6-3, 1-6, 4-6 to No. 33 Riley Smith resulting in the Trojan’s second match point. It came down to the wire as James Trotter defeated No. 65 Stefan Dostancic 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-2 to clinch the match point for the Buckeyes.
