Nice win for the sacrificial lamb.Livestats finally updated #1 singles and Kobelt prevailed by a 6-3 score in the 3rd set.
Chris Diaz blazed out to a 9-2 edge in the super breaker, and won by a 10-4 count.
so the final from IU is 5-2 for the good guys.
Wait, I thought Diaz was the second-best singles player on the Ohio State tennis team and Callahan is rated higher. That is okay rankings do not mean much anyhow. Two other Buckeye single's players received enough points to be included in the first ITA computerized rankings.
Redshirt Junior Hunter Callahan jumped from unranked to #72 and Freshman Herkko Pollanen came in at #88.
Whoa...you can't be a much clearer and more solid #1 than that. The first ITA computer rankings came out today and for the first time since 2009, TheOSU, winners of the ITA national team indoor tournament, were a clear and solid #1 in the NCAA Div. 1 men's rankings.
