Is their a huge difference between indoor and outdoor...
There is some difference--wind, heat, humidity, and sun factors in outdoor play. These are usually not huge, because both players have to deal with the conditions. The outdoor w.h.h.s. seem to most affect the player who is off, or not in prime condition. Listening to the webcast from Texas, the microphones pick up the wind, it sounds pretty gusty.
Temps today were in the mid 70's, xray randy must have lost his xray vision and foresight.
are the Buckeyes better at indoor or outdoor...
Their only loss came indoors, so you could speculate they may be more vulnerable inside. Indoors is usually a quicker surface and game, and often favors serve and volley style of play. With the possible exception of Allare that is not one of the Buckeyes natural tendencies.
did they face Buchanan on Feb 15th?
No. I went back through the archives and dug up the match results for Feb. 15. Very interesting matchups.

Great Info man!!!

Man it looks like we manhandled them. IMO this tournament is ours to lose. I hope we play our best in doubles because we are not as strong there. If we win the doubles there is no way we are going 2-4 in the singles against the remaining teams.

OSU did give the Bruins one thrashing (4-0), Feb. 15 at the ITA indoor tourney in Chicago.
2008-09 Ohio State Men's Tennis -- UCLA vs Ohio State (Feb. 15, 2009)
It would have been 7-0 if not for the mercy rule, 3 matches winning that were dnf. Would love to see another repeat of that day!
Go Bucks.:osu:
My man Buchanan didn't even play in this match so today the Bruins might even get a bigger thrashing. BuckeyePlanet better save some room for the tennis team because I feel a NCAA championship coming very soon.:io:

I noticed in the box score they moved Alare up to the #4 spot instead of five...do you think that played with his psychy a little? What do you think the lineup will be for today?

I have to believe that Ty places the players at the 1-6 positions based on intersquad head to head play.

You make an interesting point about Allare's psyche.
In the match yesterday vs. Baylor, he lost in straight sets.
When Allare played Mueller head to head earlier this year, Allare won, but the scores were 0-6, 7-6, 6-0. In other words the match had some huge swings of momentum. Allare wore him down.
I have to believe that if Allare could have held on, got one more game in the 2nd set, forced a tie breaker, etc. he could have had a match like the one he won earlier.
Have to believe the 1-6 singles lineup we saw yesterday will be the one that Ty uses today.
What might change is the double's combinations. Ty will weigh that carefully to get the best teams on the court. He is a master at unorthodox doubles play.
I like how Allare and Kronauge are playing at #1. They are beginning to put the hammer down on some strong teams.
Bryan and Shuhei are solid together as witnessed at #2 yesterday.
I also believe that Moneke and anyone else is the best doubles team in the NCAA. Steven is just that solid at doubles.

My personal opinion is that Alare @ #5 and Buchanan @#6 are almost guarateed W's. The doubles are crucial today because nobody left can do better than 3-3 against us in the singles IMO. I trust our coaching staff so however they approach todays match. I think we had an average performance yesterday. The good thing is they got the monkey off their back. That grueling contest UCLA had with Ole Miss might hurt them today physically and mentally.

Thanks for the Info:biggrin:

I will have to remember this statement for down the road:biggrin2: because that is an awfully big statement.

The point is exaggerated some but not intended as hyperbole.
Obviously he could not carry you, me, or Joe bag of donuts, but pretty much anyone else on the team, i.e. Novak, Allare, Konieko, Kronauge with Moneke for a season would be ranked top 10 in the ITA.
These are the ITA rankings;
On 1/6 Moneke and Novak were listed as the #11 ITA ranked doubles team.
On 2/19 Moneke and Koniecko were ranked #37 (after a handful of matches).
On 4/21 Moneke and Kronauge were ranked #17 (after playing together a few matches).
The NCAA tournament selection committee chose Moneke and Kronauge as the best doubles team from the Big Ten conference, even though Allare and Kronauge teamed together for the majority of the matches during the last half of the season.
