Ohio State Men's Lacrosse (2013 ECAC Champions)

Don't even get off a shot with a man advantage then Loyola get on the board, 2-1. I'm no LAX expert but the Bucks look kinda sloppy to me, so far.

Survive and advance, the Buckeyes did that 7-4. :gagnam:

But after watching Dook dismantle Hopkins yesterday, I think a cleaner performance will be needed to go further.

Just got home from Moms day stuff. Went to see Hamilton. Had no signal in the theater. Sucked. Saw the final. That's good... not liking the comments I read though.

Going to try to start the game tonight.

If turnovers, especially unforced TOs were a problem, they most definitely need to clean them up. That's been a bit of an issue in the beginning of the season and up and down since.

Still haven't had a chance to watch the game. Looked at the box and there's some telling things that I'll be watching for when I get to the game.

The good: Saves. Tommy must have been on fire. Loyola top-10 in offensive production. Holding them to four is a heck of a day, especially when you consider that...

The bad: Shots. 44 shots (to 22) means that Tommy was getting peppered. Thankfully it looks like a lot of the shots were not on cage. That said, you'll get doubled up on shots when you have...

The ugly: Turnovers. 19 TOS is crazy high. What is concerning is...

Where the TOs came from. 19 total turnovers. 13 of them came from attack. Crediting Leclaire as an attack even though he is as much a middie in my mind as attack... but he started attack Sunday.

Loyola has generally been a solid defensive team. I have to guess that their poles were totally harassing our attack. I hope that the TOs were as much of very well timed doubles as opposed to sloppy stick play or bad passing. Some of this can come from forcing the ball into the crease too... but still. That's a crap ton of TOs from the attack line.

All in all, it must have been an interesting game. Both teams are capable of putting the ball in the back of the net. For it to have been this low scoring means that it must have been a pretty physical game. Edit: Or really sloppy... relooking at the TOs, it could have been really sloppy on our end and a solid defensive game on their end.

I also did see something that Terefenko came off the field gimpy. Hope he's OK. Dude's a baller and really doesn't get the recognition that he deserves as a defensive shorty. Kid has been a huge part of the team's success defensively and in the clearing game all year...

I have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to the specifics/tactics of the game but it was enjoyable watching the Buckeyes win and advance to play the boys from Dook.

Awesome. I love this time of the year because the sport gets some attention from more casual fans. It's great for the growth of the game. What's not to love, right? Guys throwing the ball at roughly fastball speed at some dude wearing minimal protective gear, beating your opponent with a stick, the finesse, agility and creativity it takes to be good at the game, and good contact on top of all that?

Glad that you'll get to see them play at least one more game!
